VOTW: The Reason We’re Not Playing The Coppa Final

By: Steven | May 13th, 2009

Crappy quality, but it’s just to show the boys why we’re not playing Samp or Lazio tonight.

Oh yeah, add the following to that: in a Serie A where the battle for spots 6-13 is more open than Britney’s legs, the money won by a Coppa-win + European spot + Supercoppa can be the difference between struggling all year and having your ticket for another year of European travels by the end of february. Think about that, next time you enter the pitch against a crap team with a crap striker from a crap division.

If would have won that game we would have had ‘The Fag’ Cont alot longer instead of Balla.

we usually field a crpa team for la coppa because of apathy.
So do most of other teams.

I’d actually give the honor to Raggi and the man who let him see the pitch that night.

Nice. Lazio take the full 120+

Considering how they’re all set now, let’s hope they are too tired come Sunday.

Unlikely we’ll even bother playing against you this weekend.

With nothing to play for in the league and with 120+ minutes of football days beforehand, I really don’t see us going on the pitch to sabotage Palermo’s campaign to topple Rioma from that last Europa League spot.

    I quote:

positive thing is we can have a roman derby in Europe league next season, don’t tell me you don’t want to see one in the quarter, semi or even final now

Not only does this retard think the EL is already reached, he also sees them going up to at least the quarter final.

We’ll win against Lazio, but this game has lucklustre written all over it. Not sure if it will be worth me staying up late on Sunday night til 1am for this one.

Do you guys realise how much of a pain in the ass it is to follow Serie A from the arse end of the world!?

Im gonna be a huge Catania fan this weekend…

But like Lazio, they may lie down to keep their rivals from progressing to Europe

Talk about irony… We are playing Lazio and
Roma against Catania! Like KJ says, Lazio and Catania may both lay down so that this weekend will look to be a push! Roma needs to lose to Milan!

I think Catania owes Roma a favour too as there was a bit foul play from the Catanese when Roma lost to them in the last game of the season which saved the elefante from the drop.

Catania are only 6 points from the drop zone. Plus, this is Zenga’s first Italian coaching gig. I think they are going to go at Roma tooth and nail. I dont know if they will win – the marathon of the championship seems to be wearing the team down – but they wont roll over.

Let’s not forget that Catania still has a bone to pick with Roma for that, what was it, 7-0 drubbing 2 seasons ago.

And Rob, watching football at 3PM every sunday also has it’s disadvantages. My entire sunday is screwed up :)

Catania has nothing to play for and they are a team with one of the worse away records in Serie A. I don’t expect anything from them.

    Zampa reached No.2 in C4’s ‘Crazy Presidents’-list:

“The only man capable of breaking up a team, Venezia, and transferring a host of their players to a new side, Palermo, in a few hours. Also known for his easy trigger, Zampa has fired something like 27 Coaches in the past. He has gone as far to label them amateurs and idiots.”

The only way he can get to number one, is by trying to sign a dictator’s son or a woman, firing his star player because he’s South Korean and steal the club’s money.

We are quasi fatto with a host of young south American talent. One being Argentine right back-Angeleri Second being Bertolo. Then we are linked with Il Kaka di serie B Eder, and still pastore. Sounds promising.

I wouldnt be suprised if Lazio just roll over and let you guys win. They have nothing to play for. 10th in the standings is good enough for them.

Actually, I think that guaranteed admittance into Europe and some silverware for the season is good enough for them.

And I agree they play youth players/bench warmers allowing Palermo to stay 2 points behind Roma.
