The End Of An Era
By: Steven | July 2nd, 2008After seven years of (mostly) great transfers, Rino Foschi is out of Palermo. Not happy with the new role Zamparini wanted to give him, Foschi decided to leave. Not that he will be out of work: Genoa, Lazio, Bologna, Juventus and Livorno want him as their new DS as soon as possible. Let’s say goodbye to the guy that brought us Amauri, Miccoli, Zaccardo, Toni, Rinaudo and err…Guana, Caracciolo and Capuano. I will always remember him for his antics in the game against Genoa. Just see him go crazy after about 2.20.

The person who designed those shirts must’ve gotten inspiration by seeing someone wearing a backpack with an older jersey. Boring.
And fire Foschi or don’t. The summer is already half over, and this soap opera is a waste of time.

I hope Foschi stays as VP the more transfer Gurus the better. Does getting Sabatini help get us Behrami?

Stadionews says he ain’t staying.

were looking at fullbacks now, Zhirkov from the euros, played left back very well for the Russians, and Behrami are the two we want most, we want fullbacks who can attack fast and well. lets get em and put Raggi in the middle with Carrozieri, would be a fierce defence.

Any one like that our glorified water boy Di Matteo is talking smack about us being able to get a Champions League spot?

this year i didn’t even bat an eye. Remember last year Cavani said we should win the scudetto ?
where is everyone by the way?

We’re barely top 10 as of now.

We need 2 more signings and we can crack the top 5. If we get Zhirkov he will without a doubt play left wing and Balzaretti will still play LB. But, he will allow us to play a 4-4-2, or a 4-4-1-1 depending on the role Miccoli takes up. I’m still holding out hope for Renato Augusto, which would probably make us use the 4-2-3-1.

zhirkov isnt a fullback. hes a winger. he just played there in euros. agreed he played well. but i doubt hed want to do it at club level, and we needed a left footed left sided player anyway. balzaretti is one of our strongest players anyway so he should continue at left back. imagine zhirkov without having to come back and defend…..hes been doing it for years in russia. kid is shit hot. as for valon, lets hope our new transfer guru can help us realise this, he is ace.

Ya agree Fozz…I’m still not convinced with the talent of Behrami, but I will admit that nobody can run and scrap like him.

and what were we seriously lacking last season? someone who can run and scrap. guana, simplicio and bresciano couldnt do either or.

Colin, I think most of us are on holiday. I’m looking for a job, so as soon as i find one, i’m back in action.

Agree Fozz…he adds that steel to our team that we really, really need. Fights for every ball and never gives up.

howcome we’re even gettin a new shirt? last years was awesome, im not buying next years aswell, theyre well expensive to buy and get em shipped to england. I got jankovic 17 on mine too so i hope he dont leave!

I think he’ll be around. He pretty much made that right wing spot his. I thought he was really good last year when he played, he even defended well which was unexpected.

i remember hearing about him at red star saying he can absolutly whomp a ball and at mallorca he smashed a few in. i think chelsea were even interested when we brought him, but i dont think anyone in their right mind goes to the chelski factory anymore. Id still like to see a creative midfielder enter the barbera, someone who can turn a game on its head, a cassano or kaka esq player. I know you guys all go on about this renato but ive never really seen him play.

Fozz…I play pickup with a bunch of Brazilians on friday nights and they say Renato is one of the best players in the country and he’s only 20. They say his final pass is brilliant and he can hit the ball with both feet. I watched him play only once and the thing I liked about him is that he drives into open space, similar to Kaka.

It really kills me to see Amauri in a Juve jersey

well, about that R.Augusto business… with Foschi gone, our chances of getting him are SIGNIFICANTLY lower. It pains me to say this, but I believe we won’t see Renato in rosanero.

was foschi actually trying to get renato augusto? Or is it just something all you guys really want to happen? If hes this good surely its a matter of time before milan/madrid/barca sign him?? I really hate Juve and milan, the way they think theyre so good and big themselves up nonstop. Howcome theyre allowed to constantly tap players up in the press, and madrid do it, if all us other clubs were to do it we’d be fined or banned or something. I hate galliani, tht egg headed vaginal discharge is constantly running his mouth about milan this and milan that. Theyre not even in champs league this year, and the season before they shouldnt even of been it when they won it, we should of! fucking wankers. Inzaghi is shite aswell. cunt. hate him.
