The Angriest Man In Calcio
By: Steven | November 25th, 2008
Palermo fans have known it for years, but now the quality writers at Football Italia have named Maurizio Zamparini…angriest man in Calcio.
Why did they grant the Big Man that honour? I quote:
Known for his acute verbal outbursts, President Maurizio Zamparini has a view on everything and is never afraid to voice it. Ferociously trigger-happy with his Coaches and intolerant of any refereeing errors, the Rosanero chief always has something to say…
Well, I couldn’t agree more. If Zampa was a corrupt mogul, he would easily fit in with Jesus Gil y Gil, Luciano Gaucci and Vladimir Romanov. Trigger happy? Don’t know about that…
VENEZIA ’ 88-89: (1 esonero) Cerantola (Fabbri) ’ 89-90: (1) Pasinato (Sabadini) ’ 91-92: (2) Zaccheroni (Marchesi, Zaccheroni) ’ 92-93: (2) Zaccheroni (Maroso, Zaccheroni) ’ 94-95: (4) Ventura (Maifredi, Geretto, Ventura, Rossi e Geretto) ’ 95-96: (1) Marchioro (Bellotto) ’ 96-97: (2) Bellotto (De Vecchi e Fontana, Bellotto) ’ 99-00: (3) Spalletti (Materazzi, Spalletti, Oddo) ’ 01-02: (2) Prandelli (Buso, Magni).
PALERMO ’ 02-03: (2) Glerean (Arrigoni, Sonetti) ’ 03-04: (1) Baldini (Guidolin) ’ 05-06: (1) Del Neri (Papadopulo) ’ 06-07: (2) Guidolin (Gobbo/Pergolizzi, Guidolin) ’ 07-08: (2) Colantuono (Guidolin) ’08-09: (1) Ballardini (Colantuono).
Never afraid to voice his discontent? Hmmmm….
“Italy is a country of farce and ridicule. We are not a normal country. Democracy doesn’t exist in Italy.”
“Francesco Guidolin’s job is not in danger. I believe in his talent to take this team to the top. He will not be fired.” (3 days later, Guidolin was gone)
“Mutu da bravo zingarello ha fatto il furbo. Del resto tutti i rumeni fanno i furbi. Noi siamo stati polli, loro sciacalli.”
Zampa deserves the award.

I found this site full of Serie A statistics.
http://sport.alice.it/calcio/serie-a/statistiche/giocatori/tiri.htmlInteresting to see Miccoli with 53 shots – 2nd highest shots for a player in the league behind joint leaders behind Ibrahamsandwich and Zarate Kid.

Kj you gotta let that beard grow, that’s a good look for you kid. As for me, I’m letting my hair grow out like Miccoli circa Summer 2007. http://www.datasport.it/immagini/miccoli(5).jpg

that one didn’t work so here’s a good one. http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/4816/miccoli3mt8.jpg
Rob, good stats. I can’t believe Miccoli only took 3 shots less than the Zarate Kid and Zingaravic. Every game I’ve seen of Zarate he’s going for goal like every 2 minutes.

Hey guys, im thinking about getting a tattoo, that says never give up in italian which would be Non mollare mai. Im a palermo fan and i dont want the tattoo to associate with football and rather not at all with lazio. If you saw a guy with that tattoo, would you think he was a lazio supporter?

Absolutely. Don’t do it man. You might want to get it in Latin. I have plans for two as well…

Almost shit myself today watching ‘Doria-Stuttgart UEFA cup game and the British announcer called Cassano “The Scar-Faced Menace”. Also realized that without Cassano, Sampdoria = Siena.

Non mollare mai is the Laziale anthem but it’s used by other clubs as well. Bastards tried to corner the phrase

did anyone watch portsmouth – milan in wafer cup the other night? Portsmouth totally outplayed milan ALL game. The only reason they got anything from the game was from a ronaldinho dive which he smashed in an awesome penalty and a piece of magical control and composure from pippo. Milan looked good on the ball but portsmouth just put everyone under pressure all game, they passed the ball fast and wide and and they generally just wanted it more. Portsmouth are about as equal as us in the primer league, it gives me a small amount of hope…
