Some Minor Thoughts

By: Steven | October 30th, 2008

Most of you have already been discussing the Lecce-game in the previous topic, and I don’t see any reason to post an extended review of the game. Not only because of the excellent summary my fantastic readers made, but also because i was half asleep when watching the game and I’m a little annoyed with what happened.

So, instead, let’s talk about some random randomness. That is, after I give you my view on the pagelle:

FONTANA 7
Couldn’t do nothing about Cacia’s goal. I was going to give him a 6.5, but his age askes for an extra .5

CASSANI 6
Wasn’t all that good in the first 45 minutes, but showed his skills after the break.

CARROZZIERI 6.5
Was dearly missed the last game. Seems like the perfect role model for Kjaer, but should get less cards.

KJAER 5.5
Did a good job, but showed some junior errors. Didn’t go free on the Cacia-goal, but shows a lot of potential if he can just believe in himself.

BALZARETTI 6
Another good game by Balza. Assisted on the Cavani-goal. Nothing to complain.

MIGLIACCIO 5.5
Hasn’t returned to last year’s form yet, but is on the right way.

GUANA 4
Dude, really…this was so uncalled for. Nobody wants you, and then you come on the pitch and give away that goal. Take your crap elsewhere, you lousy piece of trash.

BRESCIANO 5
Mediocre. Still lacking some fitness.

SIMPLICIO 6
Not as visible as in other games, but he’s still nominated for best player.

LIVERANI 5
Came in at a rough time in the game, but shows no improvement at all.

CAVANI 7
Finally he scored. .5 extra for giving us one point.

MICCOLI 6
Was a little injured, and it showed.

LANZAFAME 5.5
Shows lots of potential, but should really get more minutes. Still, i want to see more of him.

SUCCI s.v.
Get back to Ravenna, you twat.

So, where did this game bring us in the table? We remain 11th. We’re now 7 points off the top, but we’re still not far away from EC-football. That is, if we can manage to beat Toro and Criappo.

In other news…

Some of you may still remember that we were after Keirrisson, a young brazilian. Too bad, because now the Liverpool potbellies have also declared interest. Moving along to the next target!

Oh yeah, Marco Amelia does NOT want to leave. Whatever is true, Marco should grow some balls and skip the butter.

And last but not least, Channel 4 pointed out something pretty sad:

The team that is top of Serie A after eight rounds of the championship has won the League in three of the last four years, the only anomaly being Palermo in 2006-07.

How does that make you feel, huh?

    Ricci, he doesn’t over here : )
My main music remains punk/80’s hardcore, but I like Electro when I go out. Things like Crookers, Dr. Lektroluv, Digitalism, Federico Franchi, Migrants…don’t know if they’re known in the US, but just check youtube…

I dont know man…I’m pretty partial to Bob Sinclar. Although, I’m not an expert in the genre, so I really don’t know what’s out there.

Unfortunately, Rosina will not be a Palermo player in January or, in the near future at least. I just don’t even see any interest on our part (with current management) to even consider putting an offer forward. I would really like to see Pulzetti (it’s more realistic).

Ricci & Steven – you guys ever heard of Tecktonik?

Zo I’ve seen some people do it. It’s pretty cool. I’ve tried to do it when I go out and just fail miserably.

Franchi, Migrants have had some songs over here that got some play by Electro DJs. Crookers have had a few popular songs too. Electro really is the best party music.

KJ for prez. Dudes, tecktonic? Really? That was pretty popular over here about a year ago, but only among 15-year olds. Pretty gay, if you ask me : ) In Belgium, this thing is pretty hot right now among the local Guido’s…DJ Coone’s ‘The Return’: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-dkhQ6ajkc

Pretty crappy, but after a couple of beers, i’m known to smack down some pilltakers late at night to this tune. The best part is around 2.00-2.20, where the bass suddenly goes ‘whoomp’. Still, nothing beats some good old Agnostic Front to be ripping fuckups a new asshole.

On the football part: i’m getting a little tired of already speculating on transfers. a) it’s still a long time before it’s transfer time, b) we all know we’re not going to get what we want. For now, I just want us to rape Torino in the ass, face, nose and eyesocket. Especially those two backs…

I agree with you about transfers Steven but the one thing that bugs me about our management is that we follow a young brazilian for 5 years and then lose out to a team out of no where.. why is this?

I just saw Kjaer’s media conference. His Italian is not bad for a newbie.

It’s cool to see such a humble guy. He accepts he still has a long way to go before it makes it as a proper Serie A powerhouse. However, on the flip side he is a little too nice. Some arrogance would give this guy a boost of “fuck you” in defence.

I would feel a bit concerned if he showed a tinge of arrogance. He’s a tweenie that hasn’t achieved a thing yet.

I agree. The kid definitely has talent, but it still needs to grow. The same with Lanzafame. These guys will only evolve into quality players if they get enough playing time. Or as a wise man once put it: “To get smarter, you need to battle smarter opponents’

I just hope the management doesn’t loan Kjaer, Levan and Lanza to Torino FC – the latter two in particular since that’ll be their career-suicide.

I guess arrogant is the wrong word. I was more referring to a toughness to not be intimidated by his opposition.
