Should I Stay or Should I Go Now? ..or Transfer Rumors
By: Giuseppe | June 5th, 2007Di Michele is being closely associated with a move to Roma I think maybe I was hoping it was kind of unsubstantiated, but this is the third such article i’ve spotting regarding Di Michele’s departure from Sicily. Apparently the wish to move to Roma may be to re-unite Di Michele with his former mentor from his days at Udinese.
According to WIKIPEDIA while at Udinese Di Michele made 53 appearances and scored 18 goals giving him a 33% scoring ratio per appearance, and for Palermo he played 48 games, and scored 16 goals giving him a 33% again. So, he’s not neccesarily more valuable to Roma…how should we feel about letting him go? We have Amauri, and we NEED to keep him. For another good forward we can let go of Carrociolo OR Di Michele, but I don’t think it’s advisable we let them both Go. We also need to hold onto Edison Cavani who I think is going to develop into a VERY impressive player. Scoring in both of his first two appearances.
Going In?- Sergio Almiron
Almiron’s agent has confirmed that Palermo are interested in the Argentine midfielder. He is currently a player for Emploli and has 95 appearances for Emploli, 37 of which were last year. He seems to be a player in his prime and we can definitely use some help on the midfield side. I’m excited to hear more on this.
I don’t know how solid of a rumor this is, the Turin giants Juventus are also after Almiron.

Unfortunately, I don’t know how much use he will be to us if he doesn’t want to be here…

Why would we want to keep Di Michele or Crappaciolo? They’re not scoring goals, they’re just whining like little girls every time someone says something about their lack of goals or puts them on the bench. Corini was our top scorer this season, which says it all: if a 72-year old midfielder is your topscorer, you should sell your non-scoring strikers…

You have a good point Steven…Di Michele and Carrociolo both seemed more trouble than they were worth, I think we need to focus on building up our midfield and making sure we have a striker who works well with Amauri
