Se Bastasse Una Bella Canzone

By: Steven | February 25th, 2008

As Lorenzo already pointed out, Palermo is looking for a new teamsong. La Reppublica decided to help, and made a poll. I should be working right now, but as I can’t bring myself to it, I decided on reviewing my favorites.

* Alamia Sperandeo - Sapuri Ri Gol

This is nice. OK, the beat is pretty cheesy and reminds me of a mix of Scorpions/Status Quo/crappy Italo-Disco, but the ‘AlĂ©’-chants give it a good vibe. I can really imagine myself singing this in the stadium while throwing stuff at Guidolin. The refrain is easy as well, and it really gets you.

* Rino Martinez - Blues Rosanero

Some of you might know this, as some fansites feature it. I like this one because it’s easy to sing along to, too bad it has that sound of a 6-year old playing the keyboard. With some reworking, it’s an instant classic. Oh yeah, and a new back-up singer.

* Collura Terranova - Facci Sognare

Good effort, but I don’t know if this will attract to the fans. It’s too much of a hippedie-hoppedie thing. Lyrics are better than the refrain as well.

* Massimo Melodia - Un Fiore Rosanero

The melody is stolen, his voice sucks, the lyrics are pretty gay, but I still like it. Not as an official song, but for singing to the leaving Catanese as they head out the Palermo-station, back to that shithole.

I think I’m definitely sticking to ‘Sapuri Ri Gol’, it just gets me. How do you guys feel about it?

These songs don’t make it any easier to explain to my american friends why:

    1. Anyone likes ’soccer’
    2. And why I love ‘the guys who play for the pink team.’
    As they put it.

    Seriously, Anthony. Seriously.

Hmm…are these actually the songs up for nomination or did La Repubblica just raid PianetaRosanero for the sake of making a poll (actually I thought I read somewhere that Zampa wanted to commission an artist)? I mean, Facci Sognare is all ‘Woohoo Luca Toni’. Come on. (although the ‘Siamo nooooi…’ bit at the end is fun as hell to chant)

I know it’s corny, but if we’re going for things that have already been done, I’ll take it old school. Update that a bit (without a drum machine or a 30-key Casio, thank you) and it could be easy and retro which is always nice.

I’m with you Steven. I’d stick with Sapuri Ri Gol out of all the choices. If Zampa wants to commission someone, though, heck, i’m ok with it.

Now if someone can just put Guidolin or Guana (or both) out of commission, i’d be happier.

He told Guidolin to change the defense…whether that means tactically or certain players. Will we be blessed with a Rinaudo sighting?!?!?

For some reason the smiley won’t come up. I was gonna say your previous post almost cost me my moniter. I totally pictured that in my head lol.

@ Lorenzo, for the love of sweet mother Mary let it be true. It’s ’bout damn time someone had intervened.
