Two for the price of one today. First a review, and then further down, a preview. Enjoy.

Review: Milan - Palermo

Yawn. This was the Roma-game all over again. Attacking Milan versus Palermo pulling back. We take the lead trough a lucky Bresciano-goal, Cassani is nowhere on that equalizer and then the defense decides to hand out presents in the last 25 seconds. Pippo hasn’t scored a goal in Serie A in over a year, and guess what team gives him his first…

I guess you can’t expect to win a game like this when your brilliant coach decides to bench Miccoli, Caserta, Simplicia and Rinaudo, leaving all the retard in the starting eleven. We’ve been over this millions of times, so I’m losing all the energy that is needed to talk about the likes of Guana and Guido. Our only rays of light were Jimmy (yet again, at 41…), Amauri (who was definitely showing off to get Galliani and his sockpuppet to put in 25 mil for his services) and Balzaretti, who hasn’t been caught sucking once since his arrival. Give me another player with that record, and I’ll wire you 25 €.

What else is there to remember from this match? Biava getting ridiculed by Pato, Milan not getting a penalty, Palermo not getting a penalty, and Ambrosini kickin’ the shit out of everyone without getting reprimanded. That’s about all I have to say about the game, want more, read the comments.

Line-ups:

Milan: Kalac; Oddo, Bonera, Kaladze, Jankulovski (Favalli 85); Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini; Kaka (Gourcuff 46); Gilardino (Inzaghi 73), Pato

Palermo: Fontana; Zaccardo, Barzagli, Biava; Cassani, Guana, Migliaccio, Bresciano (Simplicio 54), Balzaretti; Cavani (Tedesco 88), Amauri

Ref: Giannoccaro

Goals

09′ 0-1 Bresciano
24′ 1-1 Ambrosini
91′ 2-1 Inzaghi

MOTM

Jimmy. This is, just like the man himself, getting old too.

Preview Time

Squad Status

Palermo

Miccoli still isn’t completely healed from his injuries, so I don’t think we’ll be seeing a lot of him tomorrow. This means that Cavani is most likely to start again. Considering his inability to get anything done against Milan, that ain’t good. Capuano’s still injured, which is excellent. Now let’s hope Guana gets torpedoed by Caserta in training. Zampa told Guido te rearrange the defense, but I’m still guessing he’ll be playing Barzagli and Biava.

Probable Line-up
Fontana; Zaccardo, Biava, Barzagli; Cassani, Guana, Migliaccio, Simplicio, Balzaretti; Cavani, Amauri

Empoli

No Pozzi AND no Giovinco. Sounds great, but they still managed to kick Catania’s arse last weekend.

Probable Line-up
Bassi; Raggi, Marzoratti, Pratali, Tosto; Buscè, Budel, Marchisio, Antonini; Vannucchi, Saudati

Categorical Matchup

Jimmy vs. Who that?: Jimmy. I mean, at 41 he still looks like a young stallion.

The Swiss Cheese versus The Great Unknown: Empoli. We’ve conceded 40 goals in 24 games, with only Cagliari having to kick off more times than Palermo. Even the Hellas Verona-defense is better than ours.

Still no Bosko versus Young Guns: Empoli. As long as that bald Buffoon is playing, we are nowhere. We need the midfield to be supporting both defense and attack, and the only thing I see is a middle belt that is pulling back into the own box. Balzaretti rocks, but he can’t do it on his own.

Salsa Sudamericana versus Anonymous: Palermo. We have one of the best attacks in Serie A, now if the midfield would just give them some fine balls…

Final Analysis

Empoli’s our nemesis, so we’re not going to take three points here. Empoli won three in a row, we can’t seem to get any line in the results. Let me remind you of the last five encounters with the 5,000 visitors a match-boys:

30/09/2007 Empoli Palermo 3-1 Serie A
11/02/2007 Palermo Empoli 0-1 Serie A
24/09/2006 Empoli Palermo 2-0 Serie A
12/02/2006 Empoli Palermo 0-1 Serie A
02/10/2005 Palermo Empoli 2-2 Serie A

Now, doesn’t that spell out disaster? The only good thing we can see tonight, is Guido getting the sack after this one.

Prediction

1-2. I don’t even care who scores.

MOTM

Jimmy, for not getting us totally slain.

Honestly, this is a good performance but it should be 4-0. Cavani missed 2 easy goals, Rinaudo had another chance, Simplicio had a chance…we need to take our chances. Amauri is just creating something for everybody. Literally handed Cavani a goal right before halftime but he just shot it right at the keeper with nobody close to him.

Yeah exactly Lorenzo. I don’t understand how we buy someone for like millions of euros and then they sit the bench the entire season.

Yo Lorenzo! Amauri just almost scored a goal IDENTICAL to the one last year in Fiorentina that won us the game. He’s just so damn good. I know you’ll appreciate it cuz you’re a huge Amauri fan like me.

I didn’t see the game, but isn’t it curious that Rinaudo started and they kept a clean sheet. Coincidental? I think not. Hopefully Guidolin was paying attention. Now if only he would realize that Guana should be in C1 and Bosko should ALWAYS be out there…

I wish I didn’t check the rest of the scores today, but if anyone hadn’t noticed that those fucks on the other side of the island tied Milan. I’d really like to know what Palermitano pissed off God within the past year. I’d act on God’s wishes and take him out.

Anthony - in the end, we still have another shot at them and they’re still fighting off relegation, while we’re battling for a UEFA spot.

one more thing, in Rinaudo’s post game interview, he said he’d like to stay with Palermo for the rest of his career (albeit, he acknowledged how quickly things change in calcio), after all, Palermo is in his blood!!!

If Guidolin/Colantuono weren’t huge morons we’d be ahead of Udinese right now. We certainly have the team to do so.

Lorenzo, really nice to know that Rinaudo wants to stay. He is an absolute beast of a defender that will continue to improve. If Guidolin doesn’t think Rinaudo deserves starting time now like Steven, Kat, Lorenzo, myself etc have been saying all season…God help us all.

Kudos to the management for bringing in Balzaretti. Even in games where the entire team sucks Balzaretti still looks pretty good. Could be a future Azzurri call up?

Even the leadership at Juventus have said that they shouldn’t have ever sold Balzaretti! What a steal…and to think Fioremerda wasn’t even giving him any p.t.

On a side note, anyone see Caracciolo’s comments about his recent “good form” in Serie B? Go to stadionews. It’s pretty funny.
