Review: Palermo – Crapgliari

By: Steven | February 18th, 2008

Hello, what what this? Was this a game between a contendor for European football and a team that already has 6 toes in Serie B? The only thing I saw was a game that was way too close, thanks to the team’s ability to lose their heads when they take the lead. It was the Lazio-scenario all over again. I know Cagliari was on a non losing-streak, but still, this wasn’t a display expected from a team like Palermo. I’ll give you the stats:

Shots: 15 – 18
Posession: 46% – 54%
Corners: 4 – 7
Offsides: 7 – 0
Crosses: 23 -35
Passes: 355 – 411
Fauls against: 23 – 36

That, my friends, is bad. Really bad. You’ve been played away by the worst team in Serie A. And what’s worse: because we won and jumped 2 places, Guido isn’t going to get sacked.

Talking about Guido…let’s not. I’m so fuckin’ tired of his antics. Dude, you’re this close to getting sacked AGAIN, and then you go and get yourself sent into the stands. And maybe you can skip shit like this as well next time. Asshole.

Barzagli finally played a game without errors, but after the 2-1 the defense really looked shabby. If it wasn’t for Fontana, those Sardinian goatfuckers would’ve taken away 1 to 3 points. Balzaretti was great, again.

Line-ups:

Palermo: Fontana; Zaccardo, Biava, Barzagli; Cassani, Tedesco (Caserta 77), Migliaccio, Simplicio, Balzaretti; Jankovic (Bresciano 63); Cavani

Cagliari: Storari; Ferri (Pisano 32), Lopez, Bianco, Agostini; Biondini (Fini 46), Conti, Parola; Foggia, Jeda (Acquafresca 75); Matri

Ref: Morganti

Goals

23′ 1-0 Cavani
45′ 2-0 Bosko
51′ 2-1 Cavani (OG)

MOTM

Err…Bosko? I mean, he finally gets his chance, takes a wonderful free kick that gives us the lead, doesn’t run offside and scores a goal of his own. How more could his performance be in Guido’s face? Mad props to Jimmy as well, yet again.

Yes Steven, Guidolin looks like shit always! The thing I liked about Colantuono is that he always looked sharp. His tactics may have been terrible but at least he looked good, and was a class act above all, which made our team look somewhat better. With Guidolin’s scrub ass we play bad and look even worse. Guidolin is an arrogant prick who can’t get past his own ego to pick a correct team, cheap too b/c he prob doesn’t even own a suit. He just hoardes all the Lotto freebies and wears them constantly.

Giusep that’s our official wind-jacket. All players and tech staff get one.

Hell, I’d even rehire Gigi del Neri at this point. At least he has a strong character and won’t suck up to the spoilt senatori as Guido does.

and i thought Biava played pretty well yesterday
who we gunna sit out Zaccardo NOOOOOO because hes a better attacking player then some of our midfielders (Guana) hell right now i think Barzagli is playing pretty bad lately and are we gunna sit him out NOOOO cause hes our Captain.
AND WHO GIVES A FUCK WHAT CLOTHES OUR COACH IS WEARING !!!!!!
sorry just trying to shed some light on the other side

    - Biava played “pretty” well cuz we were playing Cagliari at home and packed the midfield. AND he got bailed out by Balzaretti on that 1 enormous saving tackle he made in the box, which was on Biava’s man. I don’t really understand your other points but Zaccardo was playing at RCB yesterday so his “attacking” wasn’t needed. Cassani was filling the RWB role. Every time Rinaudo plays he shows his class and he’s our most physically imposing player. Why bench him? Makes no sense straight up.

    - Nowhere is it written in stone that the captain has to play. Especially since he’s been playing terrible, it’s not unheard of for the captain to get dropped.

    - Every other coach in Serie A can wear a suit and look sharp but Guidolin looks like he just rolled out of a brothel and drunkingly stumbled to the Barbera. It’s kind of a bad image dude, images do matter.

    - One of the parts of being the coach/trainer is to keep the players egos in check. The problem is that HIS ego is 10X the size of anyone involved with Palermo except for Zamparini. Which is not good because Zamparini signs the checks, so have some respect. And outside of Barzagli and maybe Amauri who has an uncontrollable ego? Can’t really think of anyone. Bosko starts for Serbia, a top country with tons of talent and scored 8 goals last year from the midfield for Real Mallorca. His gripe of playing time is well warranted, the entire fan base agrees with us.

    - Fact is dude, outside of the biggest 4 clubs + Fiorentina we have the most talent. We didn’t have a left sided player but now we have an awesome one, so Guido has no excuse whatsoever. We could’ve properly replaced Corini but we didn’t. However, Caserta has proved he should always be on. His steadfast use of Guana is one of the worst coaching moves I’ve ever seen in my life. I hated Caserta at first, but then realized he just needed time to gel. He’s become one of our best players, and works hard for the shirt.

    - Guidolin peaced on us for Monaco. I could care less if wild dogs tear him and his boyfriend Guana to pieces. Guy is just a shithead, fact.

man, it really does disappoint me that we all see the same thing as well as the Palermo fans at the games. Guidolin knows that people are callin for more Bosko but he chooses not to listen. he, honestly, might be racist lol.

as for his track suits, he’s a cycling enthusiast to say the least. maybe he just wants to feel like he’s going to hop on his bike for the Giro d’Italia after every game. what a moron.

    jankovic + rinaudo – guana = success

    we should start a petition.

Rinaudo has to start. Punto basta. He’s a much better choice for the CD than Biava or Zaccardo, and in certain aspects might even surpass Barzagli. Take any one of those three out, I don’t care – as long as Rinaudo gets to play.

Zamparini wants Daniele Arrigoni for next campionato. Awesome news. To bad he can’t come right now.

Arrigoni, I didn’t like his Livorno days, but he knows Palermo and he has shown great things with Frosinone. This year, definitely the best coach in Serie B. I’m just afraid we’re gonna see another Colantuono-story, with a coach without high-level experience.

If he comes, he can bring Marrazzina along.

lets see how we play milan i think we have a chance of winning this game with no pato or ronaldo
gilardino is in a terrible goalless streak
and dida is not playing well either im saying if jimmy plays well like usual we could pull a draw and maybe a nice win
we need Jankovic in terribly though, he knows how to take care of business
    and feed the ball

uh Giovanni…pato is back and he’s going to be playing against arsenal tomorrow…so don’t get to ahead of yourself on that one…As for the others well I’d be surprised if Ronaldo ever came back…Gila yeah he pretty much sucks…theres no other words to describe him. Kalac has been not officially given the number 1 spot because Dida sucks too.

I’m kinda hoping for a draw…but milan will either play hard with heart and soul…or play like the last few games and suck saving energy for the CL games…Palermo I just hope you play good…and the guidolin doesn’t make a complete ass of the team.

well after just watching the milan arsenal game milan officially sucked except for Seedorf and Kalac

and RO i think Patos not gunna play this week cause hes injured again or at least thats what it seemed to look like(maybe just a really bad cramp). same for Nesta

Hey hey now don’t get ahead of yourself it was just a bad cramp and the strecher was just a precautionary tool…and btw you choose seedorf? really there’s so many others out there in the milan squad that played their asses off and your choose him? What about Maldini, who didn’t look like he was 39 tonight by the way he was playing…or Rino…or nesta. Ok i’m done with my milan rant. Nesta was a groin injury.
    .
like I said because their saviing energy for the CL they’ll probably be playing for the draw which is unfortunate…for both teams.

I hate when agents talk…they end up making things worse…but he’s only been featured 10 times this season right?
    .
Even though he’s home grown talent maybe it will be better if he does go someplace where he’ll be featured in the starting 11 at least then he’ll be able to work on his skill and become a great player…and it would beat just sitting on a bench.
