Random Monday Thoughts
By: Steven | April 28th, 2008
Goddamn, that was a dull game. We can forget about Intertoto for sure now, so let’s start focusing on next season. That season might well be without Bosko Jankovic. A couple of weeks ago, he told Stadionews that he won’t be leaving, but now the Gobbi seem to be interested in the Serbian Stallion. That is of course only a Tuttomercatoweb-rumour, so let’s hope he’ll stay. I love the kid.

More from Tuttomercatoweb: Atalanta’s Ferreira Pinto, could possibly move to Sicilia this summer. Atalanta-coach Del Neri said nothing is sure, but there have been contacts. More possible transfers: Carlos Bocanegra is at the end of his contract at Fulham and doesn’t want to join his sucking team in The Championship. PSV and Osasuna want him as well.
Two Palermo youngsters made their Serie A-debut yesterday. Di Mateo was bad, really bad. Cani did well, but we should give the kid as much playing time as possible now that we have nothing to win or lose this season. Cani’s a keeper, Di Mateo can fuck off.
And last but not least: Paolo Hernan Dellafiore might be on his way back to Palermo. “Al Torino sono in prestito, il mio cartellino è di proprietà del Palermo. In base agli accord presi dovrei tornare - ha rivelato l’italo-argentino - le due società parleranno a fine stagione e poi vedremo l’evolversi della situazione. Zamparini mi ’vede’ nel prossimo Palermo? Ho letto più volte le sue dichiarazioni nei miei confronti. Ringrazio il presidente, le sue parole mi inorgogliscono e rappresentano per me uno stimolo in più”. Man, I’d love to see him back.
And a new poll: who’s our biggest future talent? I’m going with Salvatore Sirigu. Why? He’s had the most first team experience since his spell at Cremonese, and he’s being prepared for a first team spot for a couple of years now.

Zabaleta is a really good prospect from what I’ve heard…anytime you get compared to Javier Zanetti thats def a good thing.
Di Matteo now my 2nd least favorite player behind Guana, Barzagli a close 3rd

I can’t put Di Matteo in that spot yet…i didn’t see him play and he’s only got one game under his belt.
My least favorite goes:
Guana
Barzagli
Bresciano
CapuanoPosted from

anyone else think we should be shooting a little higher in the transfer market? Foggia, Calaio, Stendardo, Aquafresca, these are players i would like to see in pink, not to mention Renato Augusto would be great.

Don’t forget we have close to nothing to offer. No European football = no big names.

well Foggia and Aquafresca it would still be a step up. Or why not get that Russoto kid from Serie B? Or Renato Augusto give him his big shot in Europe. gotta think big or we will be overtaken for good by Fiorentina and Samp and Genoa and Napoli who are all sadly above us now.

Palermo needs players who are motivated and willing to prove something. That’s the reality of the matter. Some of these bigger names could come here disgruntled and do us no good. Just look at our “Capitano” who begrudgingly stayed here and had a horrible campaign.

Renato is too expensive. Acquafresca - the Milan-bros are battling over the kid so we can forget about him as well. Foggia would be a good addition, though. Plus, he’d come in a more reasonable price. Behrami’s contract is not getting extended and he’ll be on the market this summer, so it’ll be worth a shot, too.

More news from the transfer market:
Uncle Zampa, “Serbo is not for sale!”
Now that’s more like it.Lanzafame-talks not going too well?
Fine, it’s the Hobbitling, then.Posted from

Behrami is definitely worth two shots. And why not try to get Alessio Cerci? And I’m also still hoping on L’arciere returning to the island…

By the way, anyone else not going to watch the CL-final? I’ve seen every single one since Ajax-Milan, but I can’t stand seeing two English teams battling eachother. EPL, worst competition ever.

just be prepared for all the annoying brits who are going to claim that english football is the best in the world…
too bad they had to import foreign players and coaches in order to make it legit…
Euro 2008 anyone? hahahahahaha

well you guys seem to have the transfer talk covered but here are a couple new updates.
seems we are chasing Almen Abdi from FC Zurich, don’t know much about him but it could happen. Someone mentioned the brasilian goalie who i have never heard of, and why the fuck would Zaccardo go to Wolfsburg for? I hope we keep him though his versatility certainly comes in handy.
Simplicio has received some offers but seems willing to stay, and Juve want Jankovic but Zamps told them to fuck off. guess that covers it for now.

I’m not going to watch the CL either. English people on a whole should be embarrassed, MLS All-Stars have beaten Chelsea in the past, and they’re going to be in the final, at least, my guess. Although, that will be a lot more entertaining than Liverpool-Manyoo.

yeah i saw that bit aabout Abdi on TMW…don’t have anything to say about him though…
did anyone see anything about Bocanegra and Palermo? or was someone just mentioning the fact that he probably won’t re-sign where he is..?

I read it in a Dutch sports paper. They said that PSV was after him, but that they could expect competition from Palermo and Osasuna.

More transfer-news:
* Fiorentina also wants Behrami, and for Barzagli they’re offering Avramov and Fabio. I say ‘hell no’.
* Cagliari’s Canini might be going to Milan, so we’ll have to do with someone else.

Avramov and Fabio? Seriously Fiorentina can go straight to hell. That’s like offering a plate of chicken cutlets and 2 cans of tomato sauce for a starting Azzurri Centre back.

I can’t wait for this offseason when Colantuono puts Guana in a garbage bag and dumps him in the straights of Messina

What do you expect from Corvino? We made a bad precedent with Toni.

I sure hope he goes to Wolfsburg, never to be heard of again. And Guana, I believe he will be on the roster again next season. And so will be Pisano.

Pisano hasn’t been playing too bad at Torino. Just get farmer Capuano off and Guana and I’ll be happy. How does Guana have a contract still? LITERALLY THE WORST PLAYER IN SERIE A AND KILLING OUR TEAM

Colantuono is already talking about jumping ship… http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/apr30h.html

well who else can we go for? Colantuano is good but not the best we could do. I want Sven from Manchester city, they seem keen on sacking him. Dider Deschamps is another option, who else, Jose Mourinho?Lippi

I think that’s just the way Colantuono speaks. He’s just a pretty polite guy to the media and kind of naive in a way. Just inexpierience in dealing with the press I think. I like him, I hope he continues. Sven would be good b/c he can attract big name players to come to us, pretty decent coach too.

I too hope the Suit stays. Tactically speaking, he has come a long way from his pre-sack days. He values young talents, doesn’t offend the fans, and his players seem to like him.
