QUIT STRIKER POACHING!
By: Giuseppe | June 2nd, 2007
This is going to be my first post in charge of the Palermo Offside. It’s been quite an eventful week and i’ve a lot of lost time to cover, So i’m trying to get as much information in as possible, please do forgive me if I’ve missed anything.
First, Palermo has gotten rid of Guidolin, for good this time. Former Atalanta coach Stefano Colantuono has been appointed new coach of Palermo. Oddly enough, while not at the top of the list Guidolin may actually be a potential replacement for Juventus retiree Didier Deschamps.
Also, it’s no secret that Juventus are AVIDLY pursuing our prized Amauri. Regardless of the 15MIL offerred by the Bianconeri Zamparini is NOT interested….
Tedesco renewed his contract for the Rosanero…..now let’s get Ziccardo and Corini re-signed yeah? A few weeks ago I would have been rejoicing about the exit of Corraciolo but after his performance the last two weeks i’m not sure I want him to go. Di Michele on the other hand, while impressive at the beginning of the season, has had some SERIOUS problems trying to close a shot for, I don’t now, what- 5 months?
Palermo has revealed an interest in Livorno goal keeper Marco Amelia, and Roma midfielder Aquilani. Zampa has also indicated he’s willing to trade Andrea Corraciolo for him….I like Fontana a lot, he may be getting older but surely he has at LEAST another season in him….look at Corini. I don’t agree that a high priced goalkeeper, regardless of skill level should be our highest priority right now.
My friends this has been my first post, please do try and be patient with me-I’ll have figured out how to post with pictures and i’ll hyperlink the news articles that coincide with what i’m talking about.

Thank you for an update. Those northerners better leave us with a scrap of something. I don’t know where I’d be without that Brasilian.

Yay, an update!! Welcome, Giuseppe!
You really think Fontana has another season in him? I want to believe he can, I really like him, but 40 is up there even for keepers. Amelia sounds good to me if Palermo can sign him.
But the Aquilani thing seems very unlikely. I laughed when Zamparini first said it, and I haven’t seen anything that makes me take the idea more seriously since then. The player doesn’t want away from Roma, and I don’t see why Roma would want to get rid of him either.

Yay more updates!!!
I think I agree with you about the keeper; although I think Amelia is amazing and would love to see him at my team, that’s wasted money, for now. We need more strikers and maybe even a midfielder or 2 because they don’t seem to be able to be healthy or eligible (yes you Guana and Simplicio, too many cards) at the right times.
