Quick reminder: Catania Sucks
By: Steven | January 30th, 2008As we all await the Livorno-debacle and I’m covered in work, Catania have just reached the Coppa Italia semi-finals. Yes, I know, the portal to Hell is STILL open. May I remind you people that Catania sucks harder than a fuckin’ Hoover? I just can’t get my mind to process this…how ’bout some action boys, or are we just going to let those dirty Etnei take over the crown of Sicily?

AND goodbye DIANA!!!! Sold to Torino.

Jesus Christ, Torino might take Diana too. Are they that desperate?

Lorenzo, what’s this about Pablo Ledesma? Kid can flat out play some ball.

and so Foschi says they aren’t negotiating for Comotto. So, we’ll just have to await the arrival of someone else - he did make it clear they’ll make another signing before the window closes.

Pablo Ledesma looks more and more like a viable option considering the fact that Comotto isn’t in the picture anymore. But Lazio isn’t on his trail, i think only we are. The article I read just pointed out that Cristian Ledesma of Lazio shares the same last name as Pablo.

Lorenzo, I think Lazio had a former interest in the player. I remember reading something about Lazio’s president saying that it was a done deal. I guess not.
Check out Aimo’s new wikipedia page, read the last few sentences. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aimo_Diana

Torino is disgusting. Buying Aimo Diana will prove to be the worst business move ever seen in Serie A.

Instead of calling them Torino…I’m going to call them Palermino….
Seriously, I am anxious to see what happens tomorrow… It’ll be a BIG day.

Hey Ricci, were you bored yesterday or what? I love it!
Lorenzo: I’m so glad we got rid of those two sacks of shit. Comotto can stay where he is, I’d rather have Vinnie Grella come over. Will be a nice game against Torino, half of the team used to be ours.
Lupo, everywhere in Italy there’s a big rivalry between cities. Look at Verona/Vicenza/Venezia, Messina/Reggio Calabria, Napoli/rest of Italy… The Sicilian Derbies are even worse, mostly because Sicily has been overpowered by other nations for almost all of history. We’ve had the French, Spanish, Arabs, Vikings, Italians…so a personal identity is very important for cities, rather than a national identity. Palermo and Catania have been ‘cities at war’ trough medieval years, and it still shows in football today.

Torino aka Palermo2 would scrape up just about any leftovers from us. I’m so sick of those Cairo’s zingari-band knocking on our door begging every year. They must think of us as some kind of charity org or 99ï¿ shop, and our board is probably to blame for this. Reportedly, having snubbed Brescia’s 3.75m offer, Foschi is now trying to give half of Caracciolo to Cairo for Comotto - who is firmly resisting his move to Sicily. This is stupid, why try to piss off Brescia, considering that we might have to sit down the table with them in near future for Viviano-transfer? Foschi seems to be slowly losing his head ever since the calciopoli2 investigations.

There’s also a rumour that Glasgow Rangers is after Caracciolo. I’ll be happy to trade him for Kris Boyd.

We bought a young FW Marco Giovio (who?) from Varese. He’s set to join the squad this summer.

And yet another youngster is coming: Di Mateo leaves Pescara for Palermo. 3 more hours to go, where is Foggia?

Not only Di Matteo, guys, we also signed another young (18) attacker in Cani. Both Di Matteo and Cani apparently will be in Palermo tomorrow.
Also, we sent Ficano, Velardi and Casisa out on loan to Martina, Pescara and Varese respectively. The Caracciolo deal with Rangers, I believe, fell through because Palermo still doesn’t want to give up their half of his contract.
Steven - yea, i’m really hoping to hear something about a Foggia deal done at the last second or even a deal for Ledesma from Boca…
On a side note, to add to what Steven said. Funny little fact, the Sicilian language (and yes, it is a language) doesn’t have a future tense because they had been invaded so many times. The Sicilian people never even worried about the future, so there was no point.

Foschi&Co. have snubbed Rangers’ 10m offer cuz they want to keep half of Caracciolo. Pure insanity.

I have a sinking feeling that we’re going to miss out on that final signing. It seems that Palermo returned to the table for Comotto…however, Fiore-merda is also there. And that’s where Comotto wanted to go originally.
Minkia….

Eh, my feeling was right. No more signings. Caracciolo actually sent back to Brescia. Other than that, Zamparini says he’s satisfied with the dealings Palermo did. Hopefully, now that Diana is gone as well as some others, we’ll start seeing more play from some players who should be playing: Jankovic, Rinaudo, etc. Who knows, maybe Bresciano returns?! ha.

January transfer window = biggest fuckin’ joke ever.

Foschi is the craziest man on the planet. I would take a stuffed bunny and 2 fried eggs for Caracciolo…guy is useless.

ricci - we did sell away Palermo’s part of the contract after all. We sold it back to Brescia. I don’t know for how much though.

Nice. Let’s get all this dead weight off our books. Next up, Ciro “The Mechanic” Capuano.

I’m surprised we weren’t able to ship him off to Juve Stabia, Acireale or Pro Sesto.

Those teams are all too good for Capuano. He’d have a tough time getting on a varsity squad at any normal HS in America. I’m being dead serious about that, Capuano mows lawns in the morning and plays football at night.
