Stadio La Favorità, Palermo
I warriors, brigate rosanero, siamo forti e vinceremo!
Preview
Is it just me, or does it feel like it has been weeks since we played Sampdoria? I think we’ve all been on a high since we beat Cassano & the Crew, that high getting even better when we heard that Crapuano would be leaving. But now it’s time to get back to business, because Udinese is coming. You know, that team that beat us 3-1 on opening day, got Colantuono sacked, was at the top for a couple of weeks but is now floating around the likes of Siena and Torino. That Udinese is just another of those dangerous, wounded animals.
So we grabbed 6 out of 6 in the last two games, which was a long time ago. On Sunday, we will have the chance to make it 9 out of 9, something I think hasn’t happened this season. But we will need to play exactly like we played Samp to get to where we want. No Atalanta-crap, almost giving up the win after a 2-0 lead.
Squad Status
Palermo
Bovo and Balzaretti return, but with Moris supposed to be out and Miccoli his usual unreliable self, we might see the Christmas Tree that gave us the win last week. I’ve always hated it in the past, but the version of last week was fantastic.
Probable Lineup:
Amelia; Cassani, Kjaer, Bovo, Balzaretti; Nocerino, Liverani, Miggy, Bresciano, Simplicio; Cavani,
Udinese
Vin over at the AS Ro…, sorry, Udinese Offside might be doing a preview. If he wouldn’t, there’s still not a lot to be said. Coda’s out, and that’s it.
Probable Lineup:
Handanovic; Ferronetti, Felipe, Zapata, Pasquale; Isla, D’Agostino, Inler; Obodo; Quagliarella, Di Natale
Categorical Matchup
Soccer Mom vs. Mr . 50%: Palermo. Handanovic is a great keeper, but he has those days when everything seems to go wrong. Marco’s having the time of his life.
My Chemical Danish Romance vs. Talent: Push. The least you can say, is that Udinese’s backline is talented. So is ours, so I expect a very thight battle.
La Statua and The Four Horsemen vs. The Future: Push. Again, a very talented Udinese-midfield. But the last game has shown that our midfield is without a doubt one of the stronger in Serie A.
He’s getting there vs. Drought: Push. Cavani’s rapidly becoming a factor that can decide matches, but if Di Natale and Quagliarella get back to scoring, it’ll be though. Luckily we have Marco ‘Hitman’ Bresciano in the ranks.
Final Analysis
This is going to be tight. When it comes to talent, I give Udinese the advantage. But when it comes to doing something with that talent, this game should be ours. We’re on a roll, and a third consecutive victory could give us that momentum we’ve been looking for. Udinese is down, and a quick goal for us might take away the last bit of their spirits. And let’s not forget, the Barbera is our fortress and Udinese haven’t won once in the last five matches, Coppa not included.

Amauri wasn’t called up by Dunga…who instead wants to rely on Adriano because he’s obviously been lighting up Serie A…(sarcasm)

Amauri for Italia!

Dunga is retarded. Amauri was holding off 3-4 defenders at a time against Fiorentina. He improves the play of everyone around him, and still scores a ton of goals.

Giro – NO AMAURI!
Wolftitsuckers? Ouch…
Also, I didn’t watch the last Palermo game or see highlights, but is Fabrizio back? And if so, in good form? He was struck down with some sort of ailment/injury right?

football manager update!!!
I won the serie a in my third season as palermo manager, playing a 4-2-3-1, by this point miccoli had left due to the fact his form is very temperemental and annoyed the fuck outta me but Cavani has gone on to become one of the top strikers on the game and scores for fun (haha thats funny in its self) my lineup that won the league was (with the backups in brackets) ; Amelia (sirigu), Cassani (zaccardo), Bovo(Cossentino), Dellafiore(mirel radoi), Balzaretti(Antunes), Nocerino (Mudingayi), Defour (Simplicio), Captain Jankovic (Bresciano), Rosina (Pulzetti), Lanzafame, Cavani (Aquino)
My squad pretty much owned, Cassani, Balza, Amela, Jankovic, Lanza and Cavani have developed into world class but i was disappointed not to get the best out of moris or miccoli, Simplicio and bresciano were great in my first 2 seasons but rosina and jankovic are probably my 2 best players now. Kjaer moved to Liverpool for an obscene amount at end of second season but LOADS of my youngsters coming through are looking tasty especially siragusa, cossentino and carbonaro.Posted from

Sosa is an attacking midfielder who can play the wing or thru the middle. Technically gifted, 2 footed, good bursts of speed…very, very happy about this.

-

Finally some speed in the midfield with Sosa.

Canada

-

finally a replacement for brienza/jankovic, though i would love to see those two back here! Sosa is a great addition for us, i guess sabatini completely useless afterall
Posted from
United States

-

Sosa is quite good alex, he has a nice shot, quick feet and good vision. he is still a little rough and will probably take a little time to get used to serie a and palemo but is well worth getting.
Posted from
United States

-

What makes me cum is that we atleast will have another creative midfielder besides Simplicio and Liverani. Sosa is what we need if he can prove his worth in Palermo.
Posted from
Sweden

-

you think you will get jankovic back? its good to see him doing well for genoa but i really want to see him back in the pink!?

Good news guys .. Sosa will be a great bit of business.. Morganella can play RB or RM which is perfectly the kind of player we need to ad depth.
Hopefully we will shift out Guana/Succi and have a decent team to finish off the season.
