I warriors, brigate rosanero, siamo forti e vinceremo!

Preview
Aaah, Derby Day. The day when the Palermitan streets are flooded by the vile Catanesi, amazed by the looks of running water, beardless women, intercourse between people not related to each other and the strange object that is often called ‘a toilet’. As Catania still isn’t destroyed by the Etna, it’s our duty to destroy the Stronzoblu this Sunday.

Because, after all, what do these guys have to show for? Struggling to stay out of Serie B, that’s what this team is made for. And it’s gonna be another heated derby: Catania has dropped back after starting the season pretty good, while we have been playing not too shabby since Christmas.

Squad Status

Palermo

Same as last week. The Fat Croatian has been spotted at Luigi’s Fat Tranny Hooker Shack last week, Moris and Levan are injured and Hernandez’ ticker is still not ticking good.

Probable Lineup:
Amelia; Cassani, Kjaer, Bovo, Balzaretti; Nocerino, Liverani, Bresciano; Simplicio; Cavani, Miccoli

Merda

Seems like the entire family is complete, including Ciro Capuano. The grass is going to grow like crazy again.

Probable Lineup:
Bizzarri; Potenza, Silvestre, Stovini, Capuano; Biagianti, Ledesma, Giacomo Tedesco; Morimoto, Paolucci, Mascara

Categorical Matchup

King Marco vs. What’s In A Name: Palermo. Did you see Marco’s saves last week? Exactly.

Stronghold vs. Ciro’s Return: Palermo. Capuano and Stovini in the same team? You must be joking.

He Looks A Bit Catanese vs. Not Nonno: Push. Midfield remains our weak spot.

Best thing since sliced bread vs. Me So Solly & The Make-Up: Palermo. The boys need to step it up after last week’s day off.

Final Analysis

Two facts: Catania hasn’t won outside of their own dump since the end of 2007, and they haven’t won in our house since the ‘92-’93 season. If there ever was a game we needed to win, it’s this one. Not only for the prestige, but also to not go under in the stream of mediocrity that is the middle of Serie A.

Form Guide

Palermo

Merda
L L L D W

Previous Encounters:

Merda.

Prediction
3-1. Miccoli tris, Capuano. Ciro then gets destroyed by Lil’ Nonno.

MOTM:

Everyone that’s jumping.

Se guardi in alto vedi
c’e’ un’aquila che vola
e’ il simbolo la fede
che sta nei nostri cuori….

Ed ecco siamo in gol
i rosa han fatto gol
la mia citta’ e’ in gol
io vivo per il gol
tifiamo tutti assieme
ed il successo viene con il gol!

Spot on Ricci. From the bigs to bottom-half sides such as Catania have all figured out how to disable our attacking force: double or triple on Simplicio, tie his feet.

Tedesco went on b/c he always plays for derby games. That’s just a fact. Nonetheless, at that point it wasn’t going to make a difference anyway.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Amelia looked disastrous at the back. There was no reason to let these inbreds run riot on us. Just ridiculous. Nonetheless, they can bask in their “glory” because to them, they’ve just won the scudetto.

All that matters is: CHE SI VINCA O CHE SI PERDA PALERMO REGNA E CATANIA MERDA!

This team better get over this and look forward to another difficult game.

    Societa’ in ritiro and press-silence.
Zampa calls the team presumptuous, (pardon me, but wasn’t he among those who boasted about Palermo’s upperhand in the derby prematch?) and says Zenga beat Balla 4-0. What’d ya expect, a nice lil’ mea culpa? Pff. This egomaniac will point the finger to everyone but never admit that him and his sorry excuse of a DS f**ked up the mercato. Tifosi should be protesting the societa instead.

Ive had my digs at ballardini because i think he is also to blame but Zamparini needs a fucking reality check also. If he didnt hire sabatini we wouldnt be in such a stupid position yet again. If he didnt hold on to utter crap players that he loves for some reason like Guana… To be fair he has managed to calm himself more this season with his outbursts but Its like self defeat with him. Sack sabatini now .. so someone else can do alot of work pre summer and get us new players early on.

Our beloved friend Ratface even made it to the cover of Belgian’s biggest newspaper. I quote: ‘Giuseppe Mascara wrote his name in the history books once more, as his 50m shot went in behind Palermo-goalie Mario (sic) Amelia. Truly one of the greatest goals of all time, which gives Catania once more the title of Best Team in Sicily (sic).’

Not only does it bother me that he is on there, but the sheer incompetence of journalists these days makes me fuckin’ sick.

Now a possibility of Papadopoulo’s return is surfacing. Dear Lord..
To me, anyone else getting the axe before Sabatini is nonsensical.

Its crazy that he Papa was actually good for us … but it wont change anything .. i reiterate that ballardini needs to wake up with his stupid tactics and subs however if zampa and sabawini continue to buy us shit what does it matter who is in charge … We have had the likes of Grosso and Toni and Amauri at palermo and yet we are still nothing more then an average mid table squad that has failed to progress … Zampa has to shoulder the blame overall.

Ballardini has done pretty well with the squad he has considering the toughness of the overall league this year. He will definitely have to change players and hopefully this will include the young Swiss Kid and bring Carrozzieri in and move Bovo to LB. Balza into LW and flat 4-4-2 is what we need.

The thing that kills us is not getting Sosa. I just cannot fucking believe the retards that can run a Serie A club.

Replacing the coach midseason would mean another step towards perpetualization of the self-claimed “transitory” period, and that’s just about the last thing we need. Zampa and his crew should take examples from Fiorentina and Genoa, or even from Samp or Udinese for that matter, stick to one coach and not send him to guillotine after a 5 winless streak.
With Simplicio’s continued piss-poor performance and the weak-point of the current formation exposed to the entire league, Balla will be left with no choice but make some tactical readjustments. It has to happen soon enough tho’, for the good of all.

I think we are forgetting that we suffered the majority of the match with a man down.

This match was the only game all season where we have lost by more than two goals.

If Bresciancato had stayed on, whilst I don’t think we looked like a winning team, I think the result would have remained consistent with our inconsistent results … i.e we still would have lost by a maximum of two goals, maybe 0-2 or 1-3.

Would this outcome have been viewed as a crisis?

(Notwithstanding that a loss to the Catanese would always be considered as some kind of crisis ;) )

this is bad times. Ive followed the rosanero for 6 years now, i know its not as long as you others, but this is terrible. I hope to god ballardini doesn’t get sacked but i think he will if we lose one more game, and im not confident against the viola. A replacement coach will not change the state of our squad, we are not in need of an overhaul like some peoplle have mentioned, I think we have a very good core, but we are in need of depth, creativity, and width. Ive been saying it since day one, sabatini should of brought us at least one winger, we have literally nothing on the bench, at least keep lanzafame at the fucking team! if we had kept jankovic and lanzafame i think we’d be in a very different position.
