Stadio Olimpico, Torino
Palermo Boys, we are here. We beat your women and drink their beer, Palermo Boys, we are here.
Preview
Aah, games against relegation battlers. Don’t you just hate them? See, that’s when you know you’re not one of the big boys yet: when you shit your pants every time the schedule deals you with a wounded animal. And why do we shit our pants? Two reasons: 1) losing points against these teams is a disaster, both for our street cred and for the standings, and b) we know we suck against wounded animals.
Still, we managed to blow away Chievo last week, so maybe that’s a good sign. I hope it’s a good sign, because two weeks after Torino, we get Bologna. That means two of the worst teams of the moment in two weeks time. But whereas Bologna might be revived by the arrival of Sinisa, Torino is just like Chievo last week: sad, crappy, uninspired and only one loss away from a new coach. We already took Iachini’s scalp, maybe we can get Di Biasi’s as well.
The squad may have found their fighting spirit back after last weeks win, but Balla still wasn’t completely happy. He still thinks we’re giving away too much in the back, and that we should take advantage from our shooting chances in stead of pissing them all over the goal.
Squad Status
Palermo
Alright, let’s see what we ‘ave ‘ere then. Let me start with a little quote:
“”Le mie condizioni fisiche sono buone. Sono in grado di giocare contro il Toro.”
That’s right, Bovo is ready for the game. Let the cheering begin. As Raggi has injured himself while shoving a cucumber up his shitter without using Vaseline and Moris is suspended, it’s not hard guessing that Kjaer will have another start in defense. Guana and Capuano are also still out, while Marco Amelia is trying to get the final residue of butter from his hands. Liverani has ended his suspension, and Balla will be forced by Blowjobarini to play The Arab.
Probable Lineup:
Fontana; Cassani, Kjaer, Bovo, Balzaretti; Migliaccio, Liverani, Nocerino; Simplicio; Miccoli, Cavani
Torino
Ha, what can we say about Torino? The Granata. Toro. More nicknames than talented players. And yet again, as the Torino-blog is as dead as Roma’s title aspirations, it’s me who’ll do the honours. Good, let’s see. No Matteo Sereni in goal. Can I have a ‘hell yeah’? This means that Alex Calderoni will take his place between the posts. Not a bad keeper, but he ain’t not Jimmy. Matteo Rubin is suspended, and Natali, Abate and Il Capitano are injured. Corini’s absence is a shame. The role of Rosina in this game is still doubtful, as he has finally gotten in the big fight with Cairo everybody expected.
Probable Lineup:
Calderoni; Diana, Pratali, Di Loreto, Pisano; Colombo, P.Zanetti, Barone, Rosina; R.Bianchi, Amoruso
Categorical Match up
Clean Sheet Fontana vs. Back-up: Palermo. I think this is an easy call, no?
Wonderkid and SuperBeef vs. Lookin’ familiar: Palermo. Kjaer could take his chance to become the Captain of the defense, and he’s yet again partnered to a big, nasty motherfucker. On the other side, there’s Diana and Depeche Mode Tattooman. Remember?
The 3 Musketeers, with Pita vs. Nothing Special: Palermo. If anyone saw the game against Juve: this is one of the most uncreative midfields in all of football.
Goleador vs. Overpriced: Palermo. Cavani and Micco are going to humiliate Bianchi.
Final Analysis
Well well, four out of four in the match-up. This can’t go wrong, can it? Yes, it can. The feared Palermitan saturdaynight lazyness could come into action, or the midfield could get fucked up because of Sadam retaking his place in the line-up…lots of things could go wrong. But if karma is in the Olimpico on Saturday, the bull is gonna get assraped by the eagle. Torino lost 5 of their last six games, let’s make it six and seven.

why we dont play 4-4-2 with lanza-simplicio-nocerino-mark with miccoli and cavani/budan upfront just pisses me off. lanza has been compared to c.ronaldo but never gets played?! but it cant just be zampa making balla play liverani guana etc?! this season started off so well then we sell a striker loan out our best centrocampista and now rely on liverani for everything. its all zampas fault as well hes a fucking ego maniac, if he just kept foschi (why did he get rid of him?!!!) put balla in place and just shut up then in 2 years we could have gone for champions league. with zampa i think balla will be sacked after a couple more negative results then we will just become a mid table side. or maybe guana will score a 30 yard volley winner against inter and breaks his neck celebrating taking out jose mourinho with him.

If Balla gets sacked mid-season, then it’s arrivederci Serie A.

If he gets sacked i give up with this team under zamparini. He can fuck himself back to venice and try and make venezia a serie b team again. He has ambitions like us but he never gives anyone a chance to fullfill these ambitions. I cant disagree with sacking guidolin and colantuono but i can be angry at him for rehiring them over and over and ruining us for the last 3 seasons.
Like i said before Ballardini doesnt seem afraid to drop players who are playing poor. Be fair to the bald capo, he dropped raggi even though he cost us alot. He doesnt use guana ever. It must be zamparinis wishes that liverani stays in the team .. im so sure of it. I just dont like the way balla waits until it is far to late to make subs but he is easily the best manager we have had in recent times. With a bit of luck against napoli away and at home with gilas filthy cheating handball we could be alot higher then we are.
Ballardini is the man, zampa needs to back him for a season!!!!!!!

i agree with the sentiments expressed here. for us palermo tifosi, it truly is a love/hate relationship we have with zamparini. we love him for all he’s done for palermo and where he’s brought us, but at the same time, we hate him for his ever-quick trigger finger, his outbursts of anger at the team at inopportune times and his poor quality hirings/firings on the transfer market.
he has to realize that threatening to not pay the players’ wages is not a good thing to do. does it really motivate the players? no, it probably p!sses them off a good deal…on top of that, it has an effect OUTSIDE of the team. does a player really want to come to palermo when he knows that a borderline maniac is running the team? probably not…unless that man’s name is cassano… haha

I would take Cassano in a heartbeat at Palermo. Let him bring Bellucci with him too.

cassano would be truly unbelieveable for us. any calcio fan who says they wouldnt want him in there team are lying or laziali

unfortunately, ricci, cassano’s only connection with palermo is being linked with another mad man in zamparini. although in a head-to-head comparison, zamparini eeks it out over cassano with just a bit more in the sanity department.

hahahah I agree that Zamparini is slightly more sane than Cassano. Speaking of crazy remember Foschi losing his head against Genoa last year? God I miss that guy.
I remember watching Cassano flipping out last year against Torino, and all the guys on RAI were just tearing him apart. I guess that passion is what makes him so good though. I honestly believe Cassano is one of the most talented player of our generation, if not the most talented.

I would agree ricci…unless you include Roby Baggio in our generation. Favorite player of all time. The only person who has come close to matching his abilities in all facets of the game would be the Psychopath, Cassano.

Baggio was unbelievable. Definitely gonna watch Baggio videos all day now.

Although, he did call for more playing time for Budan, so at least he was right about that.

maybe his wife fucks another man but i dont know why he is such a lunatic but i do know i cant have this for another season

Anybody got video/transcript of press conference?

wow, he really did go after a lot of ppl. That referee deserves it though. He was bad from the very first blow of the whistle, not just the call on Nocerino.

Super pissed right now, scored 3 goals in an indoor game and then got sent off after I scored my 3rd and went over to the other teams bench and did a violin celebration. Caused a huge fight and we ended up losing in penalties. I want to throw my computer out the window right now.

They ruin sport nowdays by taking the fun out of it, like players being yellow carded for celebrating goals. Go figure thats what we want to see .. that they actually care they scored and are happy. Fkn fifa rules suck as bad as Sabatini.

haha nice one ricci. but next time, don’t use Gilardino’s token celebration!!! ha…
im ticked because im still sidelined with a hamstring injury from a month ago…i hate not being able to play.
Posted from
United States

-

hahaha I hate Gilardino but that celebration is kinda nice.
Lorenzo you gotta let that hammy heal. I’ve seen tons of guys who re-injure it and it never heals correctly. After a 2nd injury, it’s never the same.

i know man, you’re right. and this IS the second injury to the same hammy. i kept trying to come back on it the first time (3 years ago) and I attempted to do the same 2 weeks ago…I ended up going in goal and playing there.
CLAMOROSO!!! I basically look like a one-legged pirate in goal - as told to me by my brother. Goalkeeping is definitely not my thing…I’m gonna give it some rest.
