Stadio Sant’Elia, Cagliari

Palermo Boys, we are here. We beat your women and drink their beer, Palermo Boys, we are here.

Preview

Coming of that spectacular win against Milan, it’s time for another test. The boys are in Cagliari, just like Palermo a wonderful town on a wonderful island. And just like Palermo, a second column team. You know what that means: danger. If you don’t believe me, take another look at the games against Bologna, Lecce and Torino. Added to that is the fact that the Rossoblu are unbeaten in their last five home games. Even worse: they won all five of them. So this Cagliari is in no way the team that was expected to fight relegation.

Special game for Mister Ballardini as well, as he returns to the team he saved from a certain death last year. But things like that should only motivate the team more. Winning this one may be the perfect preparation for the Siena-game. Besides, winning this one is getting us back with the European Boys.

What can we expect from our dear Rosanero? Cagliari ain’t Milan. The motivation may be less, but this is a game that needs to be won, even if Cagliari are having a fantastic run in the last couple of games.

Squad Status

Palermo

Just like last week, we’re complete. Budan is still fat, but we can’t keep on talking about all his injuries. Chances are high that Balla is going for the same line up as last week. Can’t blame him, the entire team looked good.

Probable Lineup:
Amelia; Cassani, Carrozzieri, Bovo, Balzaretti; Nocerino, Liverani, Bresciano, Simplicio; Cavani, Miccoli

Cagliari

Head over to Jeremy’sCagliari-blog for this one.

Probable Lineup:
Marchetti; Pisano, Lopez, Bianco, Agostini; Fini, Conti, Parola; Cossu; Acquafresca, Jeda

Categorical Match up

Sorry boys, no time today.

Final Analysis

We need to win this. That’s all there is to say about it. Winning Milan but losing Cagliari is unexeptable.

I missed the game (I finally fell asleep about 8 cst), but I don’t need the frustration, so maybe it was a good thing.

Zamparini threatening to quit football again:

    http://www.stadionews.it/ultimora.asp?ID=53348

And he imposes a ban on the press. Until the end of the season, nobody will talk to the media. We’ll see how long it lasts…but man what utter ridiculousness today.

Well its so pointless … refs are costing points all over the place. Why bother putting any effort in if it is undone by morons with a whistle? I dont blame him for wanting to quit, its getting beyond a joke. Things are so predictable.

Refs never give penalties against Milan or Inter .. Kaladze clear hand ball today? Yet if kaka goes down its a penalty always. Patos penalty from outside the box against us last week but bonera assaulting miccoli in the same sort of position near the line resulted in nothing. Kakas crap pen against chievo?

If you are one of the milan teams everything goes your way … why bother to fight it? Its a joke. Wonder why our league has been sucking in europe in recent years because no other team other then the normal 2 gets a chance to grow. Inter just throws their billions at everyones players and takes them away so they can rot on the bench and moratti probablly throws those billions at refs to .. and like berlusconi isnt a corrupt piece of shit .. we all know it.

I just cant be bothered to care anymore .. the decisions are so poor and they are every week.

Our league was decided in july .. and it is no different in EPL … man utd never get anything called against them at home etc etc .. its liek the whole game is turning into one big fix for the guys with all the money and influence.

It might seem an overeaction on my part but really whats the point in caring and putting effort into following a team when there is no chance to win anything due to rich criminals? lol fuck it.

I have watched a bit of EPL this season, and not just the top 4. While the refs everywhere have a hard job, they are not nearly as bad in the EPL as they are in Serie A. It’s a fucking joke. Everyone knows Morganti, Rosetti are just garbage pails. Add that guy who reffed our game in Torino as well. Whenever I see Morganti or Rosetti on our schedule I want to throw up, cuz I know they are bad and if we happen to be playing a big team we won’t get any calls.

Johanna, we got a CLEAR offside goal count against us in the first half. Second half Miccoli scored but it was ruled out. We also clanged woodwork a few times. Very frustrating game.

Why was the goal ruled out?

And yes, the linesmen in the Lazio – Inter game were also rubbish. That, the the ref seemed to have totally lost the game in the first 10 minutes. He was a frightened little bunny. Terrible. I know that it was to Inter’s benefit, but I absolutely loath to win that way. I dont want that kind of garbage hanging over the team.

I still say they need to professionalize the referees. No more part time stuff.

I will have to look for the moviola of the game.

There were highlights on youtube. Miccoli goal was ruled out because of offside, but he looked at least level. Also, that offside on Zlatan yesterday was real close. It’s still not excusable but I can understand something as close as that. Fini’s goal for Cagliari was a good 2 yards offside. Cavani also got a yellow for simulation when he was actually fouled.

dudes…let’s have a second team to support so we can fall back on a plan B in case our plan A goes to crap.

f that. C’E’ SOLO IL PALERMO. One team. That’s it.

E se parliamo di coraggio è perchè siamo preparati a combattere per nulla nelle strade e negli stadi. Per nulla.

    FORZA PALERMO!!!!

    Da ridere.

La Gazzetta on the refereeing in your match:
