Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia
I warriors, brigate rosanero, siamo forti e vinceremo!
Preview
So this is it. The last two games of the season, where everything we worked for this season is won or lost. Two games to make up 2 points to Roma, two games against opponents that have nothing left to lose and nothing left to win, but will still want to finish the season with wins.
Both teams are clearly going trough a small crisis. Atalanta lost Vieri and is losing Del Neri this summer, while Palermo is having injury problems and a president who seems to have lost every single sign of sanity.
Atalanta may be a though nut to crack (remember throwing away a 2-0 lead in the andata?), but with Riomma facing a Milan that is still in need of points, this is our chance. But, we have to bear in mind that we still have a horrendous record on the road, while 10 of the Orobici’s 13 wins came at home.
Squad Status
Palermo
Also known as “crap”. Benchwarmers Nonno and Levan are out, but the big shit is located elwewhere. Liverani might be gone for no less than four months, so Nocerino will really have to step it up. Kjaer is suspended, so Miggy might be pulled back to the backline. We will probably see a Goblin-appearance as well…mamma mia…oh yeah, and Cavani’s out as well. Who will we see? Hernandez or The Succi?
Probable Lineup:
Amelia; Cassani, Migliaccio, Bovo, Balzaretti; Guana, Nocerino, Bresciano; Simplicio; Succi, Miccoli
Atalanta
Atalanta has about the same problems we have. Garics, Valdez, Floccari, De Ascentis and Ferreira Pinto are all out with injuries, so both teams are fielding a B-squad.
Probable Lineup: Consigli; Capelli, Talamonti, Manfredini, Bellini; Defendi, Cigarini, Guarente, Padoin; Doni, Plasmati
Categorical Matchup
Future No. 1 vs. Future No. 1: Palermo. Consigli’s a huge talent, but he still has some work to do before reaching Amelia’s position.
Palermo 2009 vs. Palermo 2010: Push. Without Kjaer and Moris, we have the same crappy backline as at the start of the season.
Back-up vs. Back-up: Push. Our playmaker’s out, and I doubt that someone will step up to take over his tasks in the last two games of the season.
Micco’s Magic vs. Doni’s Drought Palermo. With our wonderkid out, all the pressure’s on Mighty Mouse and his insufficient sidekick. That goes for both Succi and Hernandez.
Final Analysis
This is going to be a terrible game to watch. Not only because Atalanta’s going to want to do good at home, but also because these are two teams filled with B-stars. Expect a lot of defensive errors, cards, awful howlers and terrible passes.

I think Sabatini said it was joke just like the Ronaldo rumor.

Sabatini is a joke.

do you think jankovic could play well in simplicios position? hes got a lethal long shot on him
Posted from
United States

He could do a job there but his passing and control isn’t as good as Simpli’s. He’s a right or left winger strictly methinks.

Can Bertolo play Simplicio’s position. Looks like he scores a ton of goals for a mid.

To truly compete for CL next season what do you think we need?
Posted from
United States

Genoa’s playing EUROPA next season. You guys really think Jankovic will leave them in favor of us? Besides Breziosi already said they are purchasing his other half.

Isn’t he just on loan? Didn’t realize it was a co-own.

yeah, i knew that kat. i’m just glad they at least brought his name up.
kinda depressing, really.

Bosko isnt staying at Genoa. They are gettin Quaresma no need for bosko who already as it is get limited playing time. They are just trying to get some money out of Zampa. We will probably have to play like 2-3 mill to get him back

If even half the names that Genoa are linked with do go to Liguria, it will be hard for us to compete with them next year.
Posted from
Belgium

Genoa’s season will latgely depend on how successfully they fill T.Motta’s shoes.

Quaresma isn’t going to Genoa…at least if the player himself has anything to say about it. He said he only wants to go back to Inter to prove his worth.
Looks like the Miccoli contract renewal will be wrapped up shortly as he passed his medical.

Great. It’s a start.
Did Konko fall of the radar for good, or did anybody hear anything about him?

As in the ex-Juventino dude? He’s fallen off the radar, supposed to be the new Dani Alves but as far as I know he hasn’t started since January.
He has a release clause of 60million euros though, so you’re gonna have to sell your entire team to fund him. Ha.

He’s started a few games since January. The one game I watched him in, he was playing great, then he got sent off wrongly. He is a really good player. The coach at Seville is a fucking moron and is ruining him.
Alessio, they wanted 9mil for him over the winter so I doubt we’d have to activate his release clause to get him.

I know, I was just commenting on the absolutely ludicrously high nature of it.

yeah the Spanish release clauses are pretty ridiculous

So Zamp wants to go all out for a CL spot next season.
Heck, it will be an improvement if we pass Round 1 of the Coppa Italia!Actually that leads me to ponder; what are your top three lowlights of the season and top three higlights?
Here are my picks:
Lowlights:
1. Loss to Ravenna in Round 1 of the Coppa.
2. The derby at home.
3. Moris busted.
Supplementary lowlight: our form away from homeHighlights:
1. Kicking Milans ass 3-1 at home
2. Beating Juve in Torino
3. Liverani. Has the makings of the next Corini.
Supplementary Highlight: our form at homePosted from

I’m stealing that idea.
