Pre-Season Picture Round

By: Steven | July 23rd, 2008

So we beat Nockberge (or something like that) with three one. Goals by Cavani, and a brace by Maurizio Ciaramitaro. Ciarawho? That’s right, even I had forgotten all about him. A little bio: 26-year old Palermitano, has been with us since 2000. Zero games for the Rosanero, but loanspells to Avellino, Parma, Livorno, Cesena and last year with Chievo. I’ve heard good things about him in training, so he might get his chance this season. More pictures:

What’s uglier? Liverani or the shirt?

The Suit in his Blowjob-position, Bovo looking like a crazy guy.

Giovanni Tedesco, born in 1947.

“Hello? Thiago Neves? Get your copy of Italian for Dummies, boy, your ass is mine!”

Does Simplicio get blacker every year, or is it just me?

now supposedly fiorentina, Tottenham, and West Ham are all chasing Cavani. No real news though. I think we need to sign Neves and Zigic to complete this team.

If we have no room for him in the starting 11 which I think there will always be due to injuries and people not performing. Loan him out to Reggina where he can def start or Chievo or Lecco. Somewhere where he can start and help a team. Why sell a great future talent at 21 esp. since we havent given him a shot on a regular basis.

I don’t think we need another striker. The rest of our mercato should look like this.

    1. Get Neves.
    2. Get rid of Guana, let Caserta go also.
    3. Secure Cavani a place where he can get some playing time and flourish. Reggina seems plausible, they lost Amoruso and it doesn’t look like Paloschi is going there.

If we sell Guana, Bresciano, Simplicio and maybe Cavani I’m pretty sure we can raise transfer-fund for Neves. We gotta rid of the deadweights anyway.

Bresciano - thanks for the memories.
    Guana - thanks for nothing.
Simplicio - Loves to eat cookies in bed at 11am super late to training.
    Cavani - loan him out.

We’re still up cash on this mercato. Didn’t we have like a ton more cash to spend? Bresciano and Simplicio should bring in 6-7m each so let’s just bid 15m and be done with it.

If we really were up cash on the market, there won’t be any need to sacrifice anyone for cash.

Reggina just signed Corradi hence we can now rule that one out of Cavani’s future destination.

I thought we put a 13 million euro bid in for Renato Augusto what happened to that money?
We haven’t bought any one since. And between Amauri, Barzagli and Zaccardo we got more then 30 million not counting all the other players sold. I don’t see where we spent all our money.

ok gentlemen…im still thinking that after a couple sales (Bresciano, Caserta, Guana), Sabatini will grab another midfielder. Could it be Neves? Possibly…but there’s still time to make a move and we’ll have to just play it out. They keep saying that more acquisitions are highly unlikely…but whose to say there just trying to keep other clubs at bay? wait and see…

It seems my favourite (and certainly not a favourite of anyone else around here!) Mr Bresciano is reconsidering staying in Pink.

From mediagol: “A Palermo mi trovo benissimo e non avrei difficoltà a restare”

While I’ll admit his last season was a shocker, if he truly does find himself recommitted to us then please give him another chance… ’cause when this guy is on he can certainly turn on some creativity.

Well Bresciano at his best is certainly a very good player, but he only if he is willing to accept a sub role because lanzafame and jankovic and miccoli are all certainly better players in his positions. I would much prefer selling him and reinvesting in neves or a similiar player.

Colin, you may have a point with Lanzafame and Jankovic - but Miccoli is no midfielder and does not have the same versatility or strength of La Statua.

However, i’m ok if Mark were to make way for Neves … I’d be sad to see him go and wish him all the best with wasting his time at some EPL garbage.

I mean how can you swap Pasta con le sarde with fish and fucking chips!!

Bresciano is a pretty solid 2 way player. However, selling him, Caserta and Guana = like a solid 12-13 million, right in that range for a good midfielder.

i’ve never had anything against Bresciano. it’s too bad that he never regained the form he had in ‘06. if he found it, i’d gladly keep him on the team and see Guana & Caserta leave…

I can remember wetting my panties when I heard the news that Bresciano had signed for us. Hell, i instantly bought a shirt with his name. But the man never lived up to his potential…

Hi guys, i did not expect to see so many Palermo fans abroad. I am living in Austria although I was borne in Palermo and I follow very often the team when they playing in North Italy ( I am actually often at Barbera as well). Sorry if I say that on my opinion you have a too American way of seeing things…People like Guana or Simplicio are very important for our team even if they are not stars…Football is not Hollywood.
