Player Of The Year: Pick Your Homeboy

By: Steven | June 16th, 2009

Yes, another short post. And there’s a good reason for that. I’m switching jobs, and I’m having interviews by the dozen these days.

Aside from that, it’s time to vote for your player of the year. Personally, I’ve seen massive performances from Balza, Cassani, Miccoli and Kjaer, but my POTY-award goes to Edison Cavani. Why? Because he finally seems to have grown into the player all of us wanted him to grow into. Relieved from the Amauri-pressure, he outscored the big Brazilian this season, proving to be an unmissable player and an unbelievable asset to the team.

Pick yours!

Big match in an hour. So is it all fuss and featehrs over there or the usual indifference?

There’s a little bit of a fuss going on. Me and my friends are going to this bar to watch it, my friends would normally never go to a bar and watch footie.

are we even interested in gooch? he would be a very sound player. He looked half decent at Newcastle but they didnt sign him becuase newcastle dont sign decent defenders, they sign boumsongs.

He’s not signed by anyone yet. There’s been talking about Birmingham and Hull, he’d never go to Kebabland. And eh, if you could choose between Palermo and the land of missing dental hygiene…

Looks like we signed another young kid, Nicola Rigoni, from Vicenza. I like the approach, but how about bringing in another player that has actually already done something with his career?

Oh, and Inter’s after Ale Diamanti.

Rigoni supposedly has a lot of potential and can play as a regista.

Fener isn’t even CL football next year so I can’t really see anyone choosing Turkey over Italy unless they offered him a ton of money/baklava.

my first instinct is no but then we could always nickname our backline “vanilla and chocolate swirl”

The decisive meeting for Pastore will be on July 5th – after the final game of the championship. For some reason, every transfer site has listed him as an acquisition. Hope it doesn’t jinx anything.

Raggi is hoping Zenga gives him a chance…and says he didn’t mean anything about the crap he spewed about Palermo when he was with Samp…

    Yeah, right.

ive only seen youtube footage of bertolo but he looks quite tasty, a bit of attacking flair is badly needed from our midfield, we have a midfield of pure defensive minded players. who is going to play as our regista while liverani is out? I love nocerino but his passing isnt up to liveranis at all.

Yeah his decision making is piss poor. He will try to force a ball through a few players when Liverani just holds it and passes it to someone else. He’s def way too nervous on the ball to be a regista.
