Palermo Vs. Lecce 7/29/07
By: Giuseppe | July 18th, 2007
There’s nothing about this match on the Palermo home site, but it is on fan site rosanerohome.it and the Lecce official webpage. I hope it’s televised. I’ve personally been suffering watching every agonizing moment of the Chicago Fire so I could use a little dash of Italian calcio to re-invigorate my spirits. (though the U20 USA team did outstanding!) (knocking on wood) this should be Palermo’s first win as Lecce ARE a serie B team and Palermo has made some serious firepower additions during the offseason.
Brienza Using the ability of babelfish and my limited ability to read Italian, Stadionews24 reports our scumbag arch-nemesis Catania are after Brienza. While Palermo have rejected the initial offer, they have named a PRICE. Personally, I would rather see Brienza join the Colombus Crew before I’d be happy to see him on the other side of Sicily. If we needed anything to throw some gasoline on the fire, sure send him over.
Bresciano Apparently England is determined to poach some of players during the transfer season, or at least to irritate us by claiming to. Manchester City is rumored to be interested in midfielder and Socceroo Mark Bresciano. Why, Bresciano-who’s criminal ancestors were exiled to the convict state that is now Australia-would want to play in England is beyond me. (Note: I do not know at what point Bresciano’s ancestory came to Australia or anything about their criminal records.)
Barzagli going abroad…wait, no he’s not Newcastle united originally showed interest in Barzagli, but earlier today decided he’s not a priority. I wasn’t really worried about this because all of the English fan news was centered around whether Newcastle would coff up the 11MIL to get the player, when all the Palermo sites had already confirmed Zampa’s price is 15MIL.
Amauri Contrary to my previous post it seems Amauri WILL in fact be healed and ready to play by the start of the Serie A season. HOORAH! Excerpt:
“The player is doing well now and the various tests on the pitch have resulted normal”, Mariani said to Radio Action microphones, “In my fax to the club it said that the player could have been fit to return playing, now if Chierici (the physiotherapist who followed the player during his rehabilitation) decides differently, he must have his motivations. To me the player is perfectly recovered. ”
The rehabilitation program made just after the injury, according to Mariani, was followed by the player to perfection: “When I operated him I said he could go to the summer training camp and I think he can go. The program has been followed perfectly.”
