I’m sorry guys, but once more Wordpress decided to fuck me over. An entire preview gone missing between the pages of the internet…

Excellent point Ricci. lol

The least you can say is that he gives everything he has for 90 minutes. Even it that ‘everything’ isn’t all that much, it’s still great that he does it. Lecce will have a fantastic striker in him next season…

I really dont have a problem with Succi…. he comes on when we need him and you dont get any media stories about him complaining sitting the bench.
Im fine with him staying next season as 2ND back up.Posted from

Succi has 2 big goals and has earned us two points but besides that he is pretty bad. He looked okay today maybe he is getting use to Serie A.

Whoa, whoa, what’s all this praise for Succi for! Is this the Palermo Offside?
Steven should be happy though…he has finally scored more goals for Palermo this season than against.

Succi is barely a professional player. Thanks for the work and the goals but see ya next season.

Yeah, im not on the Succi bandwagon. Until he scores a goal that isn’t a tap-in, come talk to me.
And even then….haha
There’s only one word for that game today: SHALACKING

Interesting to note that we finished last season on 47 points.
So here we are with a handful of games to go and on 49 points.
Do you guys think we are a better side this year than last year or has the competition been a bit softer?

Better side…and the reason for that is this:
DAVIDE BALLARDINI.
Finally, stability at the helm along with a style of play.

Ballardini is definitely the MVP of the season. And should be the coach of the year.

Well, I’d definitely put Balla up there for coach of the year, but pending the end of the season, I think Gasperini deserves it a little more.

Softer competition? Any other season we’d be already in top6 with 49 points so I think quite the contrary.
Palermo’s squad is ridiculous to say at the least, prob the weakest in last 5 years and def the weakest among this year’s EUROPA ticket challengers.
Balla came in, took control of the dressing room, and gave the team (not built by him) an identity and gioco (that has been missing for nearly 2 years). He’s the one that’s singlehandedly brought us this far and the reason why we still stand here. To me he’s the real hero of this season.Posted from

I’m with Kat, but I think that the sudden rise of Cavani is also helping us. He’s not yet the commanding player that Amauri was, but if he keeps evolving like this, he can become a true superstar.

I think some major credit has to go to Balla for Cavani’s explosion as well. Cavani is a very versatile and mobile player. Balla was smart not to pigeonhole him into a standardized position while giving Miccoli the refiner’s role, and now is getting the best out of each guy’s strong points. Genius move. And not to mention how he revitalized Simplicio who once seemed finished for good. Balla studies his players’ traits scrupulously then build the tactics around them and not the other way round, which is one of the barometers I use to tell a good coach from a mediocre one.

Seems like a huge consensus on Ballardini being the most important aspect of the team this season. And I’d have to agree too.
And of course this means that the testa dura Zamparini’s decision of give Stefano the arse after round one was a stroke of genius!
Io sto con Zamparini! …. Sabatini, not so much.

i also think a lot has to do with the guys in the dressing room. barzagli was a shit captain

but, yea, i’d say balla is #1

speaking of succi, he reminds me a lot of me when i had to play up-top in high school. i usually played holding midfielder, but when our striker got injured i went up-top. i was athletic, had a good shot, but i didn’t have the skill or enough of a killer instinct to be a good striker.
succi is the same way. athletic. good effort. but he just doesn’t seem to have the finishing touch, explosiveness, or skill level to make it as a regular on a good serie a team

Bologna fans seem to think they need to sign Succi. Seeing as that is his hometown club, let’s make this happen.

Gazzetta’s rating for this past week:
PALERMO 7 – Impietoso schiacciasassi sulle rovine del Bologna, costruisce una decina di palle-gol, fermandosi a 4 reti. E ripensando a tutte le partite gettate via, c’è da arrabbiarsi perché questo Palermo poteva avere molti punti in più.
Note that last sentence. Boy, is that ever true…what a shame.

poor attitude from sabatini this is the team that brought kjaer when liverpool wanted him and jankovic when chelsea were after him

I dont see any need for Neymar. What’s the point in all these young attackers? We have Cavani who is still young, Mchedlidze and of course Abel. So, I think we’re set for now.
We’d be better off focusing on the areas we know we need helpp in. Salvio would be a much better purchase.
