More on the Cavani Out

By: Giuseppe | July 20th, 2007

BojinovOK, when I said I though Bojinov kicked ass in FIFA 2007 and we should sign him I was partially kidding.

This morning some of my Italian sources report that there is a possible trade in the works, Edinson Cavani for Valeri Bojinov. Hmm, interesting. I like Cavani a lot, i’ve stated multiple times He’s one of my favorite up and comers.

If we continue on the Fifa 2007 logic, then in the first season I played with Juventus (since my first attempt at the game had me fired as Palermo manager) Bojinov, was in the mid-seventies. When I started the second seasons campaign Bojinov jumped up to about 89, making him even better than Del Piero. So Bojinov’s 89 ranking would be this season in Palermo, and in THAT case I’d say “yeah, we’ll trade Cavani for a better striker than Del Piero”.

But, that’s a video game, not reality. In reality, I have never seen Bojinov play, but In the multiple appearances I’ve seen Cavani play the kid has skill and a lot of passion. So I would personally be forced to say, don’t trade Cavani to anyone. Has anyone out there seen both of these guys play and have any opinion on the possible trade?

I don’t think it’s a good deal to be trading Cavani for Bojinov. Bojinov used to be a huge talent (he’s still young, i know) but it didn’t really came out in FIrenze, and his Juve-period was even worse. Cavani is still a baby, but he sure is showing a lot of potential. Best player at the u20-championships? I think so…

    So Zampa: don’t trade him!

As much as I love firenzviola.it, they report a LOT of crap. Have you seen this story anywhere else?

It was at rosanerohome.it, It said that it was in the newspaper in the morning. However, I can’t read Italian so I almost use my bad ability to read italian with babelfish and come up with something in between. I agree, we should keep Cavani, if we could pick up Bojinov for cash or different player it would be a different story.

if palermo let go of cavani you’ll be regretting the decision for the next 10 years. i saw him with palermo late last year and he was dominant in the u-20 world cup. he’s as strong as a bull and keeps his poise inside the 18 yard box. his loss will surely be another team’s massive gain. wanna send him to napoli? we’ll take him off your hands. apparently we’re building an inter milan south with all the south americans we have and are targeting.
