I’ll take your Foggia for my Cry-Baby

By: Steven | January 7th, 2008

As we speak, the squad is preparing for tomorrow’s slaughtering of the Betis Sevilla B-team, and that gives Maurizio Zamparini the time to speak. It seems that, when Lazio and Palermo sat at the table this summer to discuss the ‘Makinwa has really, really, really got to stay away from Palermo’-issue, the teams talked more than just that.

“Quest’estate avevamo trovato un accordo con la Lazio: Makinwa sarebbe rimasto a Roma, visto che la società credeva in un suo rilancio, Caracciolo lo avrebbe seguito e Foggia doveva venire a Palermo. A noi interessa sempre Foggia, la Lazio ci ha chiesto un difensore, Rinaudo, ed è interessata a Caracciolo. Il Palermo potrebbe rilevare la metà del cartellino della Sampdoria e iniziare la trattativa.

Which means: Crapaciolo can meet up with that other whiny, non-scoring ex-Palermitano in Roma, if we get Foggia. Best news since, I don’t know, Crapaciolo leaving?

Pasqualito

Remember, Pasquale Foggia is the only reason Cagliari has even scored points this season. He’s the perfect player to take over Ozzy Baldy’s position, and he’s young and talented! The only thing i don’t like is the ‘Rinaudo might be leaving’-part. Seriously, he’s way better than Biava, and he gets to stay!

Oh yeah, and for those who were hoping for Guglielmo Stendardo:

Stendardo? A noi non piacciono i giocatori che creano problemi nello spogliatoio”.

At the same time, Foggia hasn’t exactly been an angel in Cagliari either..haha.

In any case, I love the kid. Massive amounts of potential on top of the ridiculous talent already present.

However, that deal was in the past…I kinda doubt it would happen. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for it…but we’ll see if Zampa can manage to throw that one together again (especially given the vital role Foggia plays in his squad, eh?)

    FORZA PALERMO!

Really not too sure if Foggia and Miccoli can co-exist in the same lineup. They said that about Rooney and Tevez though, and they work pretty good together. However, Foggia and Zaccardo did work very nicely together down that right side in the South Africa friendly. They had pretty good chemistry. I’d be all for it, plus he gives us a very nice option from corners and set pieces with his left foot. Caracciolo has less talent than most of the guys I play with on Friday nights, let’s get him off our books immediately.

Actually, pretty funny. Caracciolo is synonymous for horrible football player in my league…Even amongst non-italians.

“See that guy? Yea, he’s a real Caracciolo”… no joke.

No doubt the kid is talented but his performances seem pretty inconsistent. There’s reason why he failed to settle in bigger clubs up to this date. Plus, we already have more than half a dozen guys on the roster to cover the AM role. Doesn’t worth going through trouble. And if Rinaudo is part of the deal even more so. Lascia perdere. We need a DM.

Granted I haven’t seen much of Stendardo, but from what I heard from some Laziale friends, he’s not really Lazio-level. If he is considered not good enough for Lazio, then why would he be good enough for Palermo?

HA, he’s a real Carraciolo. Priceless. I remember watching a Palermo game on FSC last year and Crapaciolo received a pass and took the worst shot I’ve ever seen. Literally rolled at 4 mph and almost hit the corner flag. That super monotone Scottish announcer was stunned. All he said was “Erm..umm..well, that just wasn’t Serie A quality.”, which pretty much sums up the guy except he’s not even Serie B quality.

On Stendardo, he’s been injured a bit this year, hasn’t played up to his ability. He’s definitely a better player than Biava, but obviously not at the Barzagli level. I think he’s got tons of potential, but so does Rinaudo, who is younger as well.

    For Giovanni -

you don’t understand why people ever wanted Caracciolo? I guess they got caught up in his nickname…”The Heron” hahahahahaha

Something about “herons” never really struck up any fear in me…but maybe that’s just me?

The team just beat Betis 3-0, two goals by Brienza. I love Brienza.

i know he sucks, Giovanni, i was being sarcastic.

um, Jankovic seems a tad disgruntled about his playing time according to his post game interview. He wants to play more in the second half, and i agree he should. keep the kid happy, eh?

Too bad Ciccio Brienza couldn’t be utilized more by Palermo. He’ll definitely help out the squad he ends up with.

Luckily for Betis, it was just their B-team. But still…

Jankovic did wel yesterday (heard it from a collegue who lives in Sevilla), and it was thanks to him that the Betis-defender put the 0-1 past his own keeper.
