I don’t know too much about him but i didn’t really like him too much at Tottenham. He was a decent coach but not the type for Palermo for a few reasons. I would like Ranieri when Juve sacks him at the end of the year, i think he would be a good fit here.

Martin Jol is pretty awful. I’m tempted to say that our players are in bad conditioning because not many of them can last the full 90 and actually play well. Jol was notorious for poor conditioning at Tottenham, he leaves and there’s and immediate turn around and Spurs win some silverware.
I agree with Colin. I want this season to be over. The only thing I’m hoping for now are good relegation battles and the Scudetto race to tighten up cuz Palermo just bore me to sleep. There’s no doubt in my mind they play the ugliest calcio in the top flight. Sad thing.

wanted to add that Jol’s tactics were never that bad, but coaching in England is much different that coaching in Italy.

I always liked Jol’s approach. Don’t forget he took Spurs to two consecutive top 5-finishes, the best they did in years. But yeah, Ranieri would be better. He’s got a Sicilian background as well, so that might help.
And then there’s always Koeman, because I don’t see him at Valencia next year.
As for players: Marouane FELLAINI!!! I’ve said it before, and I will say it again: one of the best young defenders at the moment. And as we’re busy shopping in Belgium then: Sanharib Malki as a striker, and Hernan Losada as a playmaker in midfield.

I say Tinkerman is staying in Turin next year.

I’d have to agree with Kat on this one. I don’t see them sacking Ranieri, especially if they solidify the 3rd spot and inch closer to Roma. Who would they get to fill in?? Lippi?? He might go to Inter after the Maniac’s ridiculous backtracking…

honestly though i can’t take much more of Guidolin as coach, we play a style that is boring and ultra defensive, but we always wind up conceding goals. i could do a better job and i mean that.

Let any one of us offsiders take his place, and he/she’d do better job than Timidolin.

I can’t believe this guy hasn’t been fired yet, anyone got any Zampa outrage news?

Hey guys come on the World Cup Blog Italy page to see what Steven has to say about the Italy Amauri situation !

Remember when Guidolin started his season? He was playing 4-3-3 with Miccoli, Cavani and Amauri. Now he’s playing 9-0-1 and praying for draws against Reggina

It’s the Zampa selling spree!
He says that Zaccardo and Barzagli are basically gone at the end of the season too, as well as Amauri.
Sack Guido Watch: 60% he will stay as coach of Palermo according to Zampa…

Zaccardo + Amauri + Barzagli = at least 50 million euro. Let’s make some nice bids for anyone and everyone. Actually let’s just give Hamburger 50 mil for Kompany and Van der Vaart.

that sort of selling spree will only work if we procede to equal the money gained or exceed in a buying spree as was just posted above. a new blood squad from coach to everyone but rinaudo, fontana, and jankovic wouldn’t be the worst thing.

keep Fontana, Rinaudo, Jankovic, Simplicio, Migliaccio, Balzaretti, Cavani (loan out), Cassani. Maybe keep Caserta too. Guana needs to get thrown into Mt. Etna
bring back Brienza, tell him to convince Modesto to come back. Halfreosenn would be good too when Reggina go down.
We need to buy: A CB, a RB, another forward, a playmaking midfielder, a backup defensive midfielder, and a winger/side midfielder. And get a new coach.

Oh keep Miccoli too, I almost forgot he played for us

i dont think Zaccardo will leave i think hes gunna stay cause if Barzagli leaves hes captain. so i dont think hes gunna pass that up
and if Amauri keep playing the way hes playing zamp says he gunna try and keep him.

ricci – i agree with what you just said…including Miccoli. there’s no hope, but i’d still love to get Renato Augusto…

We could buy, sell, loan whoever we liked, but it would amount to sweet f.a. if we don’t rid ourselves of one man ….

ok guys FIFA tourney update…
just got done playing my second game overall, group stage game against Valencia.
final score Palermo 6 Valencia 2.
i’ve booked a spot into the knockout stages with a game in hand (against Everton).
Amauri had a hat-trick and was MOTM. Jankovic had another solid day with 2 goals and Miccoli rounded it out with the final goal.
See what happens when these 3 play together?!?! Psh…
