Festa Brasiliana
By: Steven | October 22nd, 2007
According to Stadionews/Tribal Football, Palermo is about to clinch/has clinched a deal with Brazilian U17-superstar Lulinha. ‘Who be this young scallywag’, you ask me? Well, according to Fifa.com, Lulinha is the new Ronaldinho. The kid is 17 years old, plays for Corinthians in Brazil and can play one mean game of football. According to Stadionews, Rino Foschi was in Sao Paolo this week, handing over a suitcase with 5 million euros to the Corinthians-management. Would be a nice transfer, because Lulinha is an attacking midfielder. This means that the Aussie Asshole can leave without us even caring about it.
Just a small remark: there’s a kind of Alexandre Pato-touch to the transfer: Lulinha won’t be joining Palermo until june 2008.

I’m taking this one with a grain of salt until a slight more reliable source comes up with it, but it sounds pretty exciting, if he really is all that.

… and for crying out loud stop being so hard on Bresciano!
I’ll admit I have a soft spot for him ’cause he is an Aussie. I’ll also agree he is not 100% at the moment - but neither are several other players!
There is nothing wrong with a man’s choice to want to try new things in life. Football is his career. I’m sure we all look to try different things during our careers, and I respect Mark’s vision to have a go at Manchester.
Plus, in the short time he has been rosanero, he has delivered brilliantly many times.

trust me. he is not all that.

apparently we are after renato augusto as well. i’d rather see him come over lulinha. i’d also like to see cavani and jankovic get some playing time this century, and for colantuono’s man crush on caserta to go away.

Seen him play. Not too impressed, but he is only 17… We need to win now, not 5 years from now…

palermo has the squad…colantuono just isn’t the guy.

We’ll see what happens. If he’s bad, we’ll sill him to some Moscow-team during the next transfer-window.
Ricci, I’m a big fan of Caserta. He’s shown some great things, but i do doubt if he’ll be able to continue like this all season.
Who would you guys pick as our future coach? And ‘Mourinho’ is not an option…

Why can’t we get a sponsor? Please, somebody give me a legitimate reason!!
Maybe Mourhino would be a possiblity then

Steven,
Caserta works hard - which I appreciate, but IMO doesn’t fit into this team. From what I can tell, you don’t really care for Bresciano - but let’s call a spade a spade, he’s a much better player than Caserta. Until Miccoli comes back, Bresciano deserves Caserta’s spot in the midfield and let Cavani play with Amauri up top. Maybe Bresciano wants to leave but the guy plays with a ton of passion. He tracks back and defends better than any of the other midfielders (save for Migliaccio), and goes forward better too. Caserta drifts all over the field and causes Palermo to lose their shape. He just runs around furiously with no direction and makes ridiculous challenges at ridiculous moments. Simplicio, Bresciano, Cavani, Amauri and Miccoli are so graceful on the ball. It makes no sense to stick Caserta in there. We saw against Milan how bad he played. Jankovic comes on, diff game.Posted from

At the beginning of the season, I thought Colantuono was the business. He was talking about playing attacking, flowing football and we did see that in the 2nd half against Roma and against Livorno. Until Miccoli comes back, this team isn’t really complete. When he drops a little deeper and retrieves the ball to distribute or run at ppl, it’s a sight for sore eyes. He can be our trequartista. However, I’m very worried that Colantuono is too concerned with suring up the defense, and he will continue to pack the midfield and leave the forwards by themselves.
Colantuono seems like a great motivator, but tactically he jumps around a lot. He trys to play one way, but he doesn’t use the players correctly sometimes. He realizes what needs to be done however, and his substitutions are usually on point. He could pull the trigger a little earlier but that’s a problem with most coaches.
Top coaches in Italy right now: Prandelli, Ranieri, Spalleti, Mazzari, Novellino. I would love to have any of them at Palermo although the first 3 are a big reach.

It’s just crazy that an entire team can collapse because of the injury of one single player. Last year Amauri, now Miccoli. How ’bout buying an extra striker?
I also loved having Colantuono around, but the guy is just messin’ up now. He doesn’t have the experience to coach a top club yet. I wouldn’t count Novellino among the top coaches. The man didn’t let Samp play to their potential, and the same thing is happening at Torino. If i was Zamparini, i’d go for good old Serse Cosmi.

Ha. for some reason I typed Novellino. I meant Marino formerly of Catania. I like what he’s doing with Udinese, and he did a nice job with Catania as well. He plays a lot of attacking football, I like the formation and I think it would work very well with Palermo.

Cosmi would be great. Let’s start a petition!

i deff agree about Caserta he dosent deserve a starting postion on the squad.
what palermo need is a national level goalie dont get me wrong about Fontana hes good but he only pulls through sometimes, we almost had amelia that would of been nice but even if we look to different countries like france or spain even south america.
1 more thing we need one more solid striker our squad is strong enough to play all 3 amauri miccoli and cavani but to contend with the big we need a good solid bench so im glad we are looking for more attacking power, i hope they arrive in january.Posted from
