Exodus, Movement of The Zacc

By: Steven | May 7th, 2008

According to Kicker, a German magazine that is always right, it’s a definite thing: Cristian Zaccardo is leaving Palermo for Wolfsburg. God knows what he’s been thinking, but it gives us another seven million euro. But still, unlike his defensive brother in arms, he will be missed. Zacc, there’s always a place for you if you decide to return.

Giro, that’s a normal thing to happen. Some of these guys have been with us since Serie B or our first season in A, we need to build a new squad.

Zaccardo will be missed, that’s for sure. Although, in a bit of kinda funny news, there is talks that Barzagli might go to the Bundesliga as well…and not for Bayern but…wait for it…Wolfsburg! HAHAHAHAHA Barza and Zacca can be teammates again!

There’s talk about handing Amauri the captain band on Sunday at home. I’m 100% for that. He continues to show class and professionalism with all this stuff going on. He’s given Palermo his all. It’ll be sad to see him go.

Foschi said that they want Nocerino (who is coming most likely) and Giovinco. Those are the two players being mentioned right now for the deal. I’m glad they aren’t giving up on Giovinco. At the same time, we’ll go to the “buste” for Budan with Parma and Foschi said that he’ll be looking to sign one or two other South Americans to fill holes elsewhere. Is that a Renato Augusto opening?! I HOPE SO!

RIP Zaccardo: What the fuck is Wolfsburg, anyway?

Seriously though, I will miss him too
Can we send Barzagli to the MLS?

now amauri is saying he may nto want to leave as it is his greatest regret not being able to lead us to the CL. I love this guy.

We definitely could use Nocerino. He’s someone who drives the team forward. Migliaccio is amazing at winning the ball back but his vision is poor and his passing movement is to the side or back usually. When Nocerino was on form for Juve earlier this season he wins the ball and plays it forward, something Corini always used to do. Basically, that’s a huge hole in our team right now. Guana tries to do it but he just sucks and can’t make a 2 foot pass. I will go out on a limb and say if we get Nocerino + another decent signing we will make a run at top 5 places.

Im upset to say this but I think with out selling Amauri it is going to be hard to improve out team. The money we get from Barzagli and Zaccardo we will be able to slightly improve, but with the money and players from Amauri we will greatly improve and be on our way to a very good season 2-3 years from now

giovinco must be co-ownership or full ownership or nothing, loan is not enough.

Yes Alessio lately his passing has been poor but in the beginning of the season he moved the ball forward nicely. Not saying he was Pirlo or anything but he was winning the ball and quickly moving it. If you knew anything about the game at all you could see he is more than just a Gattuso player who runs around like an animal for 90 minutes. I was trashing him at first when I heard we were interested, but his presence will boost our team. He just needs game time to mature, something we can give him.

no…..no ricci, his passing has always been poor. i’ve defended nocerino this entire season, but he gave away far too many balls. the entire first half of the season he performed decent, but he picks up too many yellows and his passing is errant at best, and he has been this way all season, hence why he was dropped for sissoko after one or two weeks. (who’s passing has gotten better, but he’s far from a pirlo)

i totally agree though, he needs game time to mature. i have all the confidence in the world that in 4-5 years he will be one of the best, and he will be a force for palermo soon. gattuso was rusty around the edges at rangers, its natural for a young defensive midfielder. (except for vieira 2.0 aka sissoko)

i would love to keep amauri
an amauri de melo partnership up front would be insane and then we sell guana zacc barzagli emo and bresciano we got some good money on our hands and some and other money we got and we can have a better squad then this season

I agree with Allessio, for like the first time I might add. Nocerino has been very erratic in the passing game. But with time, will develop very nicely. Plus, his grit is EXACTLY what we have been missing all year. Can’t measure heart

Interesting article here about the relationship between money and success for clubs in Serie A.

    http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=686943

The gap between the top 4 earners and the rest is quite sickening.

Well it’s all opinions I guess. In my eyes Nocerino will be a blend between De Rossi and Gattuso. Alessio, you are right in that his passing has been very poor, but in the beginning of the season he was everywhere and driving Juve forward. When he tries to play tricky balls through, that’s when he gets into trouble. He just needs to win the ball and play it forward.

Nobody here is talking bad about Zacca, Mel. He will be missed for sure. That’s a great site you have there. The question is, will you continue to cheer for Palermo once he’s gone? :)

And no, Ricci, Emo’tino won’t be sold, he will go out on loan.

I’m gonna miss Zaccardo he did really well for us and always had his heart in the right place unlike Barzagli who didn’t always give his all for us. But i really for the life of me can’t understand why he wants to leave us for Wolfsburg, it is like your girl leaving you for an ugly, petty minded midget, if you catch my drift.
