Diana is not just a girl’s name

By: Giuseppe | June 4th, 2007

Diana Aimo Diana made his Azzurri comeback on Saturday for Italy’s national team and reminded me I why I like him so much. While Italy as a team really should have beaten the Faroes, say 7-0, the team had some problems finishing shots. However, Diana was playing like a man with something to prove. He looked to be setting up some of the best shots, with several BEAUTIFUL crosses and passes to the center. He should have been able to set up several goals….but as I said we were having some problems with finishing our goals. Barzagli also entered the game nearer to the end. It was good to see on a team consisting mostly of Italian powerhouse club players that two of our own Rosanero were able to contribute.

This does bring me to some concerns I have about Palermo in the midfield. We tend to be a team that plays with 5 midfielders, so we need to focus our efforts on getting some really good midfielders so that we can really a good attack going, hopefully we’ll hear less about what goalies and strikers Zampa wants but more on what midfielders we’re going to go after….
