Coppa Italia: Udinese - Palermo
By: Steven | December 19th, 2007So…it’s about 1 PM in Belgium (and in Italy), and in about 150 minutes Palermo is getting on the pitch in Udine. About 324 people will be in the Stadio Friuli on this god forsaken hour in the afternoon, when all normal people are working or attending classes in school. For that reason, not one single non-Italian European channel will be broadcasting the game. Let’s just hope some Chinese channel is available trough SopCast or something. As I am typing this at school while listening to some guest speaker who’s talking about the history of the Medici-family’s money, I really don’t have the time to give a big preview. Most of you won’t mind, as the Coppa is like Gisele Bunchen’s ugly sister: nobody seems to care about it. I care. I believe that the Coppa is our biggest chance of winning something, and as all the other teams aren’t competing to full strength, we should go for it.
Guidolin feels the same way, and he’s fielding quite a fine team. Nevertheless, the attacking trident gets a day off, and Jimmy is injured. RInaudo will get a chance, and Caserta isn’t even on the teamsheet. Udinese shows no signs of Handanovic, Quaglia and Gyan, which is good.
UDINESE (4-3-3): Chimenti; Coda, Felipe, Zapotocny, Ferronetti; Isla, Obodo, Eremenko; Pepe, Paolucci, Floro Flores.
In panchina: Handanovic, Felipe, Candreva, Migliorini, Siqueira, Boudianski, Laurito.
Allenatore: Pasquale Marino
PALERMO (4-4-2): Agliardi; Cassani, Rinaudo, Barzagli, Pisano; Diana, Tedesco, Simplicio, Bresciano; Jankovic, Brienza.
In panchina: Ujkani, Zaccardo, Biava, Migliaccio, Guana, Amauri, Miccoli.
Allenatore: Francesco Guidolin
Prediction: 0-1, Brienza on PK

Bosko starting in a semi-first choice side? Nice.

Yawn…
If teams played their A squad, it would be a great thing. But…

Diana and Bresciano can leave any time. Grazie mille.

I don’t think I need to review this game…most boring match ever? One chance a team, and a lot of crappy passes. Hey, 0-0, not bad. Let’s focus on Lazio…

Haha. I watched the highlights last night, they were about 30 seconds long. Cavani had a goal line clearance and Jankovic hit the crossbar.
If we can take 3 points from Lazio, sets us up real nice for a prime run at CL spot in the 2nd half.
