Changes in Palermo
By: Giuseppe | June 11th, 2007
Palermo have made some roster changes. They have basically OUSTED Corini…which I think is complete BULLSHIT. AC Milan have the respect to keep Maldini on roster because he is part of the teams spirit and he is still an able footballer, Corini is not only younger than Maldini he is a more important and a better footballer in terms of his contribution to the rest of the Palermo Squad.
Now JUVENTUS are the ones close to a deal securing Andrea Barzagli.
Palermo have made two recent acquisitions In midfielder Giulio Migliaccio and keeper and Samir Ujkani. Uefa.com had the following to say:
“The 25-year-old Migliaccio has joined from Atalanta BC where last term he made 33 appearances scoring twice. The midfielder will be reunited with Stefano Colantuono who was his coach at the Bergamo club. He said: “I’m really happy to wear the Palermo jersey. They are an ambitious club and it’s a pleasure to work with Colantuono again.” Meanwhile, 18-year-old goalkeeper Samir Ujkani has arrived from RSC Anderlecht where he played ten games with the reserve team. Both players have committed themselves to Serie A outfit until summer 2012.”
Samir Ujkani is a young goal keeper who has reached international status, he requested and Albanian passport and actually will be part of the Albanian U-21 team participating in the Euro 2009 competition. I think both of these additions are great for the team, Fontana is getting older and is going to need someone to replace him soon and any additions in the midfield are warmly welcomed. I still can’t believe Zamparini would have let Corini go, that really pisses me off.
