Bresciano to Man City

By: Giuseppe | August 7th, 2007

Mark Bresciano has left Sicily for the premiership. The deal was worth a reported 4MIL. I like Bresciano, but I think this was a good deal for Palermo. Bresciano’s a good enough player that he was worth some money to the club, but not SUCH a great player that he wasn’t expendable. They’re shaping up a really great squad right now, and this was a good move for both the player and the club. Bresciano joined Palermo in 2006, 34 appearances and 6 goals. Rumor is Palermo are getting ready to make a bid on Ajax’s 22 year old midfielder Hedwiges Maduro. Maduro has been with Ajax since 2004, and made 55 appearances with 5 goals.

In case you haven’t heard yet, Palermo beat Triestina in a friendly 3-1. Palermo goals respectively were Cavani, Jankovic, and NUMBER SIX for Miccolli. Just to make this a little juicier, here is some VIDEO of the Palermo-Triestina highlights:

Or not. Given the way Bresciano was talking after the deal “went through,” this could be awfully awkward if he has to go back.
