Benvenuti, Terremotati!

Stadio La FavoritĂ , Palermo

I warriors, brigate rosanero, siamo forti e vinceremo!

Preview

The german word for a team like Udinese is ‘Angstgegner’. You know you should be able te beat them, but you never do. There’s no real reason for it, your team just can’t figure them out. Udinese’s like that. But right now, they’re not living up to the expectations. Marino lead the team to a great start last season, but they still ended up in the middle of the table. And this year seems to go in the same direction. Losses to Inter and Atalanta might see Marino get the sack if he loses in Sicily, so his team is probably going to do everything they can to avoid that.

Squad Status

Palermo

No Liverani, and no Kjaer. The Boy Wonder’s suspended after collecting too many yellows. Zenga might opt for a 4-3-1-2 as a result, with Goian taking the place of Kjaer. Rubinho’s most likely to start over Sirigu.

Rubinho; Cassani, Goian, Bovo, Balzaretti; Simplicio, Migliaccio, Bresciano; Pastore; Cavani, Miccoli

Udinese

Nobody missing here.

Handanovic; Basta, Coda, Domizzi, Lukovic; Sanchez, D’Agostino, Inler, Pepe; Floro Flores, Di Natale

Categorical Matchup

Sketchy vs Sketchy: Push. Neither of them is a really good goalie.

The Romanian Disaster vs. Weak Link: Palermo. Even with Goian in, this should go our way.

Highs & Lows vs. Want!: Push. I’d gladly take Inler and D’ Ago from their hands, but if our boys want, they can match it.

The Classic vs I Uh Oh!: Udinese. 9 goals. Nuff said.

Final Analysis

It’s not gonna be pretty. It never is against Udinese. But we can’t afford to lose, because that’s gonna put us back in the right column. We need a win, but I won’t cry if we get one point.

Prediction

2-2.

MOTM:

Pastore

Remembering the Good Times

Se guardi in alto vedi
c’e’ un’aquila che vola
e’ il simbolo la fede
che sta nei nostri cuori….

Ed ecco siamo in gol
i rosa han fatto gol
la mia citta’ e’ in gol
io vivo per il gol
tifiamo tutti assieme
ed il successo viene con il gol!

Mannone made a cpl of mistakes but not many considering they threw the kid in at the deep end he has been very impressive .. far superior to almunia who is so average i have no idea why arsenal have had him as number 1 for so long?

Isnt mannone another production of the atalanta youth that was taken out of contract for cheap like rossi from parma .. etc etc .. we need new fkn employment laws.

If zenga knows anything its a goalkeeper … sirigu looks confident .. saves well .. distributes well .. comes for the crosses and catches .. he is brave .. he has it all. Im glad i stuck by zenga also when ppl wanted him gone .. it was crazy .. it would have been dejavu .. see zamparini shut up for once during bad games and we got through it and have progressed. I dont think we will beat inter because they get every decision their way at the san siro .. however they sucked bad against dynamo kiev. Milito, chivu and others are out.

Preview coming tomorrow, but yet another strange day of football. Juve trashed Samp, Roma, Fiorentina and Lazio lost again, Milan 0-2 in the first 5 minutes and 2-2 in the last 3, Livorno 6/6 under Cosmi…strange season.

Does anyone remember Valeri Bojinov, the one we were trying to grab during the offseason? I think he would fit in lovely if we sell Cavani, which I think would do us very good regarding both money and skill. This transaction would be optimal in the winter market when everyone is still thinking that Cavani is part god. Call me a hater or a minority but I think that Cavani wastes away over half the oppurtunites he is given

Giuseppe, you are right that Cavani wastes many opportunties, but remember he is our sole workhorse and is still raw and developing…Scouts and us as fans can clearly see this guy’s ceiling is pretty high…I think it would be in our financial interest to hang on to him a little longer

Cavani is definitely our most wasteful striker, but many of those opportunities he wastes are those he creates from himself. Give him another year and a half at the club to hone his finishing skills and his first touch. Once he combines his extremely impressive work rate with the know-how and calm finishing touch he can only gain through experience he will command a decent price, hopefully in the range of 13-15 million or lesser amount+players (my preference). Our bigger problem will be holding on to the great Dane.

If you look at the scoring charts for last year Cavani has one of the highest goal counts in his age group. He also manage to out score Amauri. You have to also remember he might miss alot of chances but he usually makes mos of the chance because of his own work rate. Another Striker might not have the same chances.

Still love this guy. Always will.

As for Cavani, he provides for the team like no other by running all over the place and drawing defenders with him.

I missed out on Faith No More tickets today so I’m really really pissed off!! Sold out in 5 minutes :(
If we can come away with three points against Inter, tranquility may be restored.

Im starting to think Giuseppe doesnt know how to rate players at all cause Cavani is probably the most important player to our team. Especially since he is teamed up with Miccoli who doesnt run at all. And he is worth 10-15 right now.

ohhh Giro, non pensi che? I said that we should hold him unil the Winter and then ship him off, isnt that what he wants anyway? And if anybody thinks that Cavani is better than Miccoli i dont even have words for you, and with D’Agostino shapin up for a winter transfer to Palermo it really looks like Cavani can be ending up with Udinese.

Giuseppe, Cavani has never said he wants to leave Palermo let alone this winter. And the likelyhood of D’ago coming in the winter is 0. Also you would sell our only ‘hitman’ and replace him with a regista, where is your logic. Where did I say he is better then Miccoli they are both different type of players.

Cavani’s runs off the ball are seriously insanely good. Once Liverani comes back hopefully our passing will click into place and our midfielders can start finding his runs. He can also smash the shit out of the ball with either foot.

I would think you would have some love for Gillet, Steven. He is a beauty! (both aesthetically and functionally) We as Bari tifosi are lucky to have him as our portieri and leader.

More importantly, take care of business and beat Inter.

Mike, I did my internship at a football magazine, and for one article I ‘had’ to fly to Bari (back then a team struggling in B) and interview him. Been a fan since.

Giuseppe, dude, why the fuck would Cavani want to go to Udinese? And a guy that scores 15 goals in a season isn’t going out the door cheap.

KJ, all Cavani has said is he would love to play for a big team and in the CL. He has also said he wants to get Palermo to the CL. He has never said I want out of Palermo this winter or this summer. Logically every player that play calcio wants to play for the top teams in the world.
