A win? HUZZAH!

By: Rose | May 1st, 2007

Cavani has an 8packFirstly, I am SOSOSOSOSOSO sorry about the delay in posting. With the losing and the tieing and the whole working-for-FIFA, I’ve been ignoring my pinkpink blog. I’m sorry.

In case you’re wondering though, a quick re-cap from the last post.

29th, Sampdoira - Palermo: 1-1 tie. Where after all fans believed that hope was eternally lost for the team, Cavani put in a killer and saved the day. By now, headlines on StadioNews made Palermo fans weep.
30th, Torino - Palermo: 0-0 tie. One where Caracciolo was actually playing well, di Michele was off, and there were many facepalms on my side. I feared. Post-game, Zampa stated that the CL was out of the reach. The following day, CL was still in reach.
31st, Palermo - Cagliari: 1-3 loss. Bresciano’s goal in the first 3 minutes. We then lost Biava and a penalty against right before half-time. Fontana giallo’d along with 3 others. Then 2 goals in the last 10 minutes. I don’t want to talk about this one. Also the game which sparked the EVER HILARIOUS Easter Egg quote.
32nd, Inter - Palermo: 2-2 tie. In which EVERYONE around the world was waiting for this little pink team to finally stop Inter’s unbeaten run. The team had a great start, making it 2-0 before half time, with a goal from Caro in the first 3 minutes, a second [unfairly] disallowed goal, and one by Cris right before half-time. And then, Ibra came on. No, I have not forgiven him yet. But the boys played well, although whithered after the break, with Guidolin making some odd changes. Like Giacomazzi. Resulted in Zamparini calling him “a sissy”. Yes. This is almost rivaling the Gyspy comments. Almost, but not quite.
33rd, Palermo - Parma: 3-4 loss. This is on tape somewhere. I refuse to watch it but for Cris’ goal. REFUSE. The next day, Guido out, Gobbo in. StadioNews reported everything to the minute detail, including which players arrived with which.
34th, Livorno - Palermo: 1-2 WIN. HUZZAH. FINALLY. 11 games without a win? Hurts. My heart swelled with the knowledge that celebrations would be held all around. I was right. [Yes Martha, that link was for you. I'm still busy with Cavani and Cris.] The team returns tomorrow with a spring in their step to Stadio Bocadifalco for a back-to-back training session.

Not to jinx anything but, quartto posto? Still do-able.

And I promise that I will try to update more often. If only to report things that Mr. Guiseppe Radio Announcer during games likes to say. And I am totally not kidding about this one either. During the Livorno game, di Michele kicked out the ball for a Livorno injury. Which prompted, “Noi non abbiamo giocatori che si chiamano Adrian Mutu. Buttiamo la palle, non come gli altri. Commun che, non si parliamo di pui.” I wish I could listen to the games more often, if just for Pepe.

In regards to the FIFA working, I’m currently working promotions for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Which our little Cavani will be taking part in, playing for Uruguay. Please check it out, because, “It’s gonna be huge!” Yes, that’s our official slogan.

That’s awesome about the U-20 WC. I was considering attending this summer, as it’s not that far to Montreal, so you better post something to convince me to go…

Also, isn’t it the FIFA World Youth Championship now?

Whatever it’s called, it’ll be a large activity…wait, that’s not quite it, but I’m sure I’ll get it right next time…

Isaiah, Montreal is hosting Brazil, USA, Cezch Republic, Portugal, Poland, and more for the first round. Then the round of 8, and quarter finals. Tickets are between 10&20 dollars. And if you get tickets for the first round, your tickets are valid for both games on the same day. The first day Poland-Brazil is already sold out.

And nope, it’s the U-20 World Cup. That’s what all my postcards and flyers say. And it’s definetly gonna be big.

Me? Interested in a photo of a barely-clad Corini? Perish the thought! (Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to bookmark and right-click.)

Ooh, and Portugal? Awesome! Can you give us a link to the event site, so we can all pretend we might be able to get tickets and come?

I’m joining the general chorus of YAY! (Both for the win and for you being back here!) And how did I miss Zampa calling Guidolin a sissy??
