Mercato Boredom

By: Steven | July 31st, 2009

This is boring. It really is. Normally, the mercato is full of odd transfers and makes you laugh about all the stupid transfers teams with too much money do. With the financial crisis, it’s a lot less exiting. How long have we been waiting for a new signing now? Sure, there’s talks about Dzemaili and Rubin, and about Fozzy leaving for the country where even thongs are made from wool. But you can’t call that exiting. The only ‘exiting’ things that are happening in the next two weeks, is the decission over who we will play in the Coppa (SPAL, Como or AlbinoLeffe) and the three-way tournament in the Barbera against Mallorca and Sevilla. Not much, huh?

So, until there’s more news, enjoy our new diamond in the rough.

Bresciano and Simplicio are being linked with Bologna. i wouldnt mind selling the pair for 15-17mill. Or just Bresciano for 7million.

Caracciolo – the king of Serie B. Never trust a guy whose nickname is the “heron”. It’s about as intimidating as a sunflower.

Yo Giro, no way i think we can get 7 million for Bresciano. Yet, if someone is dumb enough to do so, by all means, pull the trigger.

‘Zo, Bologna’s got 20+ million to spend thanks to their new criminal, I’m sorry, Albanian prez. That’s the perfect setting for an overpriced Bresciano-move.

Am I the only one that gets a throbbing hard-on when I think about our starting eleven for next season?

That what I’m thinking Steven. Trigger happy new owner with money to spend. Bresciano has all the makings to be a good Trequista for a shitty team like Bologna.

Dzemaili has all the qualities to be a world class midfielder. Trust me, in 2-3 years that 5 mil for half will be a bargain, especially with the way the transfer prices are going.

I second that Ricci we really need this guy. If we dont get him then i would say the next best option is Ledesma.

I dont know. Taci hasn’t taken over the club officially and the deal has been stalled. Apparently, they’ll try to figure it out tomorrow, but the Bologna tifosi are reasonably worried.

so andreolli wants out of roma and your after a quality defender…any idea why your not being linked with him? even on loan he would be a big addition to the team hes got a hell of a lot of potential

Meh…he has yet to impress me. We need an experienced defender, not a guy that’s not good enough for a team that’s destined to end up around 10th place this season.

that would be the case if roma werent such a fucked up disgrace. he definitely has the ability and is at the right age but like a lot of italian managers spaletti has a problem giving youth a chance. how can a player prove his worth when they arent played?
look at genoa, how criscito and bocchetti have had breakout seasons from what ive seen andreolli is equally as talented as either of them he just needs to play!
how can he when spaletti licks mexes french tickler while juan watches? kjaer is a prime example of why youth should get a chance its only the italians who have a problem with this

sorry KJ, i know he has, i love the crazy fella like a dad of my own but i am just a little worried about our central defensiveness. I rate Bovo even though i know a few of you say hes not good enough and kjaer, well kjaer, what a guy. Im actually excited to see him eat up serie a’s strikers this season and i also think he’ll get his big blonde barnet up the other end and put a few in the onion bag.

CLAMOROSO: Amelia has been swapped with Rubinho of Genoa.

    THAT CAME OUTTA NOWHERE!

And after the initial shock, I’m ok with this move. Amelia’s performance outside of Milan were average at best. Not only that, Rubinho is one of the most underrated goalies in the league. Say what you want about Genoa’s season last year, but Rubinho deserves some credit as well.

Plus, we always got the up and coming Sirigu.

I can live with it, but only if Rubinho shaves the unibrow!!

And yes, Lorenzo, its only a matter of time before Sirigu gets his shot

I’m shocked, but not in a ‘Noooooooo!’-way. I have always had a soft spot for Amelia and he has played some great games, but he’s just not reliable enough. I remember some awful howlers he sucks at crosses. Added to that is his constant flirting with Roma.

Rubinho’s a beast, and he could become a huge asset for this team.

More GK-news: Lokomotiv seems to have offered 4 mil + Pelizzoli for Fozzy. Why would anyone switch from Palermo to Russia?

balzaretti was a good transfer, same with moris (for 8 months, at least). but our probable starting xi still features six italians, so i’m not too worried
