Saturday Supermercato Stuff

By: Steven | May 31st, 2008

Well, the least we can say is that Zamparini is having a blast on the transfermarket. Not that it’s all that good: Caserta might be shipped off to Atalanta in exchange for Carozzieri or Fuckari, Rinaudo is close to Napoli for about 7 mil and Abbiati is going back to Milan.

So, what do we have left then? First of all, there’s the signing of Fabio Liverani, our first semi-Somalian ever. And our ugliest player until now?

Then, there’s the Amauri-transfer. Finally finished, bringing Nocerino AND Lanzafame to Palermo. Lanza has been swallowing his previous comments, and had this to say yesterday:

“Il Palermo è una grande squadra con un progetto ambizioso. Sono molto contento del buon esito della trattativa, più del successo a Tolone con l’Olimpica. Ho già parlto con il mister che si è mostrato molto contento del mio arrivo: sa già come impiegarmi. Vorrei che la stagione iniziasse domani.”

The Cavani-to-Lazio-for-Behrami soap has taken a new turn. Lazio is now interested in Miccoli. Too bad for Lazio, Miccoli ain’t going nowhere.

More transfer targets:

* Salvatore Aronica, who said he’s ready to leave Reggina. We’ll be fighting Lazio for him.

* Simone ‘The Beast’ Loria. Another ex-Atalanta player, and really good to replace Pusszagli.

* Marco Amelia, still.

Oh yeah, and Bresciano’s talking to Fulham. Get.The. Fuck. Out. Already.

Cannavaro may be out of Euro08. Pretty bad news for Azzurri fans everywhere. Gah. Gonna have to rely on Barzagli and Chiellini cuz Materazzi ain’t gettin anywhere near the field. Maybe Retardadondi calls up Gamberini who has been prob the best CB in Serie A besides Chiellini.

Chiellini-Gamberini centerback-line would so kick ass. Too bad for Canna, though.

Hey peeps. Ive been following palermo since 2005 and never realised there was a forum where i can actually talk to other fans. Keep me informed on the past season then, i only catch highlights on footytube. Who was hero who was zero? Are we really in requirement of a whole new squad?! How is floccari a replacement for amauri? Is jankovic going to be given a fair crack next season? what happend to diana?

Fozz - this is definitely the place to be in regards to Palermo news. We post game previews and recaps as well as highlights of the goals. Now, we usually muse and speculate over possible transfer news, comings and goings, etc.

Let’s see…hero of the season? Easy. AMAURI. We’re gonna miss the guy big time.

Goat? Guana. He’s horrible. Shouldn’t be on the field. Ever. Hopefully, we can unload him this offseason as we have viable replacements (most notably, Nocerino).

Yes, we are in need of a revamped squad. We’ve already sent Barzagli and Zaccardo packing…Our defense was among the worst in Serie A. Unfortunately, we’re also sending Rinaudo away (really sad about that). The thing Palermo needs is motivated players and i think that we will be able to see this with the transfers we’ve made.

Jankovic is easily a favorite amongst all of us here at Palermo Offside and should be given a starting spot next year. He’s got incredible pace and skill and we’re all excited about his prospects for next year.

Floccari? We’re all a little miffed at his signing…let’s hope Foschi & Zamparini know something we don’t.

Idk Floccari is a un-known 26 yr old striker. He could be the next late bloomer Foschi and Zampa find. We signed Luca and Amauri around the same age and they were both pretty much no bodies. Lets hope he works out the same way. He is not as big as either guy but who know he might be able to find the back of the net for us. Hopefully it works out.

ah fantastic to hear. guana was never a good player though, even when he was a “hot” youngster at brescia he was one of these defensive midfielders that couldnt actually defend (i have followed serie a for years) is that caserta actually any good? if we have raggi to replace barzagli who do we have to replace zaccardo? That lanzafarme is a striker, where will he fit in with cavani miccoli and floccari?! do you think we’ll make any big signings? If we sold barzagli, rinaudo, zaccardo and amauri that is the best part of £25m?! Surely we’re going to invest that? Liverani nocerino and lanzafame cost us nothing? And raggi couldnt be expensive?

    hey fozz, welcome.
Raggi actually can play right or center defence, plus we have cassani who is pretty good on the right side. We are looking at Loria and Carrozieri for center defence, Loria would be good the other guy i haven’t really seen in action but supposedly he is a tough nut too.
Floccari i’m not really taken with that signign but as Giro said who knows maybe he can grow to be another surprise hit, or maybe but hopefully not another fucking carraciolo.
Miggs is a beast, Simplicio is good but lazy and probably won’t start next year.

should be a bunch of goals between them. Hopefully Miccoli can have a full season and score in the high teens. Then De Melo score in mid-teens. The other contribute with a few here and there and we should be in the top 5.
