Jekyll and Hyde, The Living Proof.

By: Steven | March 25th, 2009

First off, I want to thank Lorenzo for taking care of this blog while I was exploring another continent. The buildings were high, McDonald’s not as tasty as over here, the women nicer than expected, the iPods cheap, the European cars funny looking and the Guidos all over the place, but I survived. Too bad I had to miss the Lecce game, but luckily I was somewhere in the air between London and Brussels when we sucked against Chievo.

Just another proof of this team’s inconsistency. Bresciano might be the master, the rest of them are pretty good students. So, to prove that we have been pretty inconsistent, I went trough some stats. Here’s the list of all the teams that we have played twice so far, with the results:

* Udinese: lost, won
* Roma: won, lost
* Genoa: won, lost
* Napoli: lost, won
* Reggina: won, drawn
* Juventus: won, lost
* Catania: lost, lost
* Fiorentina: lost, won
* Lecce: drawn, won
* Chievo: won, lost

Look at that. Not one team has been beaten by us twice this season. Hell, we only had the same result against Catania, and that was a double loss.

And some more:

* We have the fifth best defense away from home. Funny, considering our awful record on the road. At the same time, we have the third worst defense at home. Funny, considering our strong record at home.

We all know that football has nothing to do with logic. But this is just crazy…

    I really hope Zampa follows through on his threat and quits. He brought us to Serie A but with him we’ll never get further then the occasional Uefa Cup spot.

    my only fear is that potential club owners would be weary of sicily’s “unique” business environment…but if a shiekh wanted the club, i’d invite him with open arms too, haha

    Fuck that. If some shoe throwing, carpet driving, 72 virgins expecting, towel wearing rich man takes over Palermo, I’m out. I don’t want my team to become the new Roma, followed by 15-year olds just because we bought some money grubbing swedish-bosnian striker or something like that.

    yeh I would be hesitant to a foreign owner. It’s not like his dream was to grow up, strike oil and then buy Palermo. The identity of the club will go out the window.

    I think Floccari would be a good buy and a good fit for us too, but I’m just wondering if it would warrant a switch to the dreaded 4-3-3, otherwise one of them rides the bench.

    good point on Ricky Zampagna clashing with Zamparini. It would be hilarious to see that big cafone in a pink shirt though wouldn’t it?

    @Ricci
    As long as Balla keeps counting on Simplicio, I don’t think it’ll happen. Just bad news for Cavani.

    To many people are after Floccari. Dude is going to have a 10 million dollar price tag. Pick up another young argentine with talent and a Tiribocchi Pelliser or Borriello im sure he isnt going to be with MIlan to long and he showed that he can score in Serie A.

    Borriello hasn’t been fit all year plus he would cost just as much as Flocca if not more. I honestly think we would be better off with going for someone like Tiribocchi who will come in and run his ass off up front and get in defender’s faces etc. Succi does none of that.

    There’s honestly so much talent out there that it’s fucking laughable that we have guys like Succi and Guana on our squad.

    thats the difference between england and italy you have players like zampagna who can do that and not even have a sniff of the national team. our best strikers are crouch and heskey. the difference in quality between england and the rest of the world is scary.

    regarding borriello milan, roma and juve clearly have a problem with medical staff or training as they have had an insane amount of injuries. he played 35 games for genoa last season the as soon as he gets to milanlab hes crocked for the season? dodgy. and no offence i dont think he would move from milan to palermo he wouldnt comtemplate joining us if he wasnt neapolitan. you have cavani anyway!

    actually, raga, the answer may be even simpler than we’ve made it. need an adequate attaking player? need a winger? need a palermitano when nonno retires?

    did somebody say ciccio brienza?

    Colin, trust me, I think all of us want him back. I couln’t stand seeing him in B next season. But I think he’s from Napoli, not Palermo, originally.

    And can you blame him? He was our most loyal servant, and he got fucked by Zampa. Not a quickie, but a royal DVDA followed by a Boston Steamer.
