LiveBlog: Palermo – Fiorentina

By: Steven | October 26th, 2008

Conclusion: we got screwed. Not only by the ref on that slamdunk-goal from Tuffo, but also by the total incompetence of our star signings Raggi and Liverani. The good thing is that we now know that Raggi’s miserable game against Udinese wasn’t just coincedence. I say we ship him to Ficantieri Palermo. Or Parma, whichever’s worst.

Did we deserve to lose? No. We had lots of chances, we played fairly well and Fioremerda wasn’t all that good. But what does that give you? Nothing. Right column, five points behind the leaders. Wednesday we travel to Lecce. Not taking all three points might already mean Balla’s end.

94′ Final Whistle.
93′ Come on, 1 more minute, this sucks.
91′ 4 minutes added.
90′ Lanza77, almost…
‘89′ Im’ sorry, I just fell asleep, or something…time for the whistle.
85′ Cavani goes close again! Sweet header. He really wants to prove himself…
84′ Close, again. Shame.
83′ Oh! So close…but still no Cavani-goal…
81′ Raggi stole a ball. Call the Guiness book of world records…
79′ Lanza’s doing great. Now if he would just learn the Offside rules…
78′ BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING
77′ That’s right Marco. Kill that gipsy.
74′ Liverani has another bad pass. ‘It’s not Liverani’s evening, i think’ You think? YOU THINK??? Stupid Scottish cunt…
73′ How is that not a free kick, you fuck?
72′ Jimmy, dude, you really want me to have a heart attack?
70′ Why the fuck did Liverani take that freekick??? Is he paying to play??
69′ Yes! Freekick in a great place, and yellow for babyface. At least the Aussie’s still fighting.
68′ Lanzafame in. Finally.
67′ The commenter annoys me. ‘Palei-mo arrrrrr onley fojf points behoind first place…’ yeah, well, it’s five points, that’s too much.
65′ Vargas has a star tattooed on his arm. I’d love to cut it out and stick it up his filthy spick ass.
63′ This seems like the end for the fighting spirit. Nobody dares to take a shot.
62′ And that’s game. Liverani error, terrible covering in the back. 1-3.
60′ Everytime Montolivo’s coming, our backline retreats. He’s 12 years old, just bring his babyface down!
58′ Tuffo being dangerous again. He reminds me of Pippo Inzaghi…ugly and gay.
57′ Kjaer is on. Great tackle.
56′ Oh yeah, that’s right, Liveblogging…nothing happened, we’re doing a good job, Comotto is terrible.
50′ Simplici-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1-2!!!!!!!! Did you see that work? Balza, Micco, Cavani and then Fabioloso!!!
49′ We’re back! Had some stream problems, so i only know that Jimmy is in. Yeey!

Halftime. Conclusions? The new NBA-season started about 45 minutes ago instead of next tuesday, Raggi + HDF = San Francisco 1906 times ten, the referee is as blind as Stevie Wonder and my hate for everything Viola has grown to a Roma-level.

47′ WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK???????????????? That was about 1 fuckin’ millimeter?????? How can you see that, but not see that fuckin’ piece of inbred diving scum toss in the ball with his hand?????????
46′ Liverani is actually playing pretty good. Micco freekick.
44′ I can’t believe it. We are creating one chance after the other, and they have two and make a 100% record…
42′ Raggi and HDF fuck it up, Zingaro scores. 0-2. Balla feels the axe hanging.
39′ Zingaro goes close, yet again.
37′ Marco Bresciano, i’m close to taking back everything I ever said about you. I’m taking your shirt out of the closet.
35′ Today’s Miccoli might well be one of Serie A’s best attackers of the season. And Dainelli already coming off. 54 is just a little too old to play top level football, Krolldrup is coming on. Never knew Serie A allowed girls to play in the first team?
33′ HDF looking a bit better, but his shoulder really seems to bother him.
32′ Ooooooh! It would’ve been so beautiful! Hippiedude, this is your day!
29′ Goddamned, why do you have to wait so long to pass that ball?????
28′ Zingaro bomb. Amelia looking good for once.
26′ Give us a goddamn consolidation penalty, you fuckin’ asshole ref! And Vargas should stop whining…
25′ Goddamn! Micco’s firing at will, but there always seems to be a Purple fag in the way…
22′ Just got a call from Balzaretti. He’s gonna do a two-legged horizontal kick on Gila’s anus.
20′ Fuck. 0-1. Tuffo drags down HDF and knocks the ball in with his hand. I hope Raggi takes both of his balls and kneecaps.
18′ Vargas, dude. It’s football, not American Football, the goal is only 2.something metres high.
16′ CamperMan shoots, misses.
14′ Tuffo controls ball with Palermitano clinging on, doesn’t go down. Nobel Prize Committee already on the phone to give him an award.
13′ The shakyness of this backline gives me worse runs than those 17 bottles of Stella last night.
10′ Good effort by The Hippie, and a good second shot by Bresciano…but not good enough yet.
9′ Defense is looking like the writing on the Chievo-blog…pretty bad.
7′ Lo Zingaro is already fuckin’ with Raggi. Not good.
6′ Miccoli shoots the ball in the net, but is 3 cm offside. Bummer.
4′ Viola-header causing danger, good clearance. Second header by Tuffo going past.
2′ Is it just me, or is Miccoli looking a little fat these days? Seems like all those panelle and arancine are finally making their way too Mighty Mouse’s belly.
1′ One minute in, and Santana already knocked down HDF…filthy argentine!

Alright already then, we’re up! I just saw Lorenzo’s eyebrow-pic, so i’m still a little shocked. Gilartuffo is playing, so is Liverani. Let’s get this thing going!

One hour and ten minutes to go. I’m counting on you guys.

Wise words are being spoken. Like ricci, i’m bummed, not pissed off. Things could’ve been different if Tuffo didn’t get that goal. And with Moris and Kjaer in the back, things will work out.

Balza has been playing like gold ever since we bought him. We have a fantastic team, but we still need some time to gel. If Cavani can find his nose for goals, Micco stays healthy and our backline is in full strenght, we can do this.

And let’s not forget, we still have 30 games ahead of us. Not all is lost.

This is just not gonna work. We need reinforcement in virtually every department. We should get refunds on Amelia and Raggi from their respective ex-squadra in the winter, and invest that money back into the mercato for some depth.

Maybe Livorno will take Amelia back for Pulzetti, and we give them Kjaer for Diamanti.

Balza needs a lot of work in his defending. He was getting outrun by his adversaies too often and too easily, causing us to suffer on their counterattacks.

i dont no understand this hate for amelia? he made some good saves just give him time to settle in palermo, some north men cant get used to it, palermitano shouting at them in the street! seriously though he is quality keeper but when you have liverani and raggi in the team players will score past you. we have a quality backbone in amelia, moris+bovo, balza, nocerino, fabio, marco, miccoli and if cavani could finish he would be best striker in serie a! we just need two players a striker and a midfielder preferably cigarini or defour

I am sad. This is horrible, marco will come good. Raggi and liverani have been let downs. Where is our “surprise” signing.

Im with you Alessandro .. Amelia has done nothing overly bad. He even made some nice saves tonight, I dont understand the stick he is getting so young into the season. I will agree with everyone who says raggi was a waste though .. yeah he has only had 2 games but he makes a mistake nearly anytime the ball goes near him. Liverani is really starting to piss me off mega though. He is lazy and doesnt tackle back, he tries hard passes when the simple ones are the much better decision .. he loses posession so much. I fear he wont ever get dropped because he is the captain. I’d drop him .. bring in the hardworking Migliaccio who everyone loves and give the captains armband to Nocerino! Leave the creativity in the mid to Simplicio and Bresciano. I Hope Kjaer gets alot more games because he looks like a great prospect.

even though some of you have mercilessly tormented us Romanistas, that Gila handball was soooooooo dirty. My respect level for him went from .00000001 to -33920482304823

i’m with you Asem, Gila is a dirty cheating bastard.
Amelia is not terrible he needs time and needs to concentrate better, he certainly plays better with l’azzuri then us though. Kjaer should be first picked whenever Bovo or Carrozieri are out. we need to win badly against Lecce or that crisis word will be used, heads will fly, and we’ll be back to square 1.

Some words from Kjær after the game:
“I had a good debut and I’ve only received praise after the match. I’ve been told that I won’t get many chances because I’m only 19. That’s why it’s important I played well.”

He also had some praise for Murgu and Gila:
“They are two amazing players whose kind isn’t available back home(Denmark). It’s the best players I’ve ever played against.”

The best thing about today is that we have to look foward to playing 3 relegation contenders we should win but that doesnt mean we are going to. But the odds are in our favor.

Even better, Lecce are missing 3 starters next round including their main scorer Tiribocchi and central defender Fabiano. Bovo or no Bovo we should be able to blaze through this motherf***r and anything less than 3 points is unacceptable.

3 problems last night, the hand of gila (although it could have been penalty) raggi and liverani. if raggi is on the pitch i have no hope against good players and if liverani plays wednesday and plays as bad then he should be dropped and bovo should be made capitano and nocerino after him. kjaer should be a starter if moris and bovo are out hes meant to be amazing and he showed us a glimpse of it last night. but we are only 5 points off 1st place and we just need to aim for uefa cup
